Checking In on a beautiful Sunday morning.
Just pray the Sun is as bright on Monday Good luck to all. Added on March 7, 2010, 10:00 am" If u add back the "one time" IPO cost, its profit did not drop much. That is the 'normal' profit it should have made" If you talking about on how to reconcile back the accounts, I would 100% agree with you. For all new IPOs except Maxis ( under Relisting ) :- These IPOs ( companies per se ) would have gained tonne of cashflow ( could in in billions ) through new shares issued and build up their Reserve called Share Premium account by Billions. Whether money used to repay loans borrowed is another story. And this process benefits Big and small fish equally. But in the case of Maxis , the above are totally absent, only " IPO" Costs are well taken care of by Maxis. One very odd accounting treatment is shares issued ( or rather sold by existing big fish /shareholders ) at RM 4.75 to small fish is considered a loss to Maxis ( valued at rm 5 ? ) How can it be since the par value of Maxis is only 10sen per share, and IF NEW share issued at price of rm 4.75 ? Under normal circumstances, Maxis would have built a Share Premium Account by Biillons ( rm 4.65 X numbers of new shares issued ) How can Maxis undertake the "loss" incurred by big fish , Binariang and partners for rm 53m ? First time I know of such accounting practice. Leeway accounting perhaps. Fair or unfair, shareholders to decide. This post has been edited by SKY 1809: Mar 7 2010, 03:48 PM |
