Is the vip thingy up and running? I cant seem 2 join the MBT server when it's full even though i paid for the slot.

The vip reserved slots are currently still not working. The issue has been reported to Fragnetics and they are still fixing it. Hope they fix it by next week -.-

very sorry for that. im not comfortable with vips cannot get in the server when its full since u guys have paid for the slot. for the meantime if any vip want to join in, let me know (pm by xfire id:hezri) for me to manual kick

Gest, chill out, I know is frustrating when we cant join a server we paid for, but I believe most of us VIPS understand the problems is cause by what, and we do know Fragnetics and you guys are waiting for EA to come out with the fix.

By the way, just my 2 cents. I paid mostly is cause supporting the Malaysia Gaming community to have a dedicated server by Malaysian.

Pings aren't showing in the server browser
Currently pings in the server browser use ICMP echo, which is often blocked by firewalls both on machines e.g. windows firewall and on routers. If your client isn't displaying server pings check to ensure that your firewall isn't blocked.
In addition windows Vista and Windows 7 users may need to run BC2 as an administrator to enable pings to work

PunkBuster filter in the server browser doesn't work
The filter option for PunkBuster in the server browser currently doesnt work, it always returns zero results.

Server Name filter is case sensitive
If you use the server name filter to find your server be aware that it is currently case sensitive so searching for "multiplay" will not return servers with "Multiplay" in the name

Server list doesn't always display all servers
There is a known issue that is preventing all servers being listed all the time in the server browser, the workaround is to refresh the list and if this doesn't help to restart your server

Daemons for BC2 are not supported
Due to security and other general problems related to running third party Daemons we will not be supporting them. All functionality that is provided by these daemons can be achieved in standard rcon based utilities so there's no real need for them anyway

Server Descriptions / MOTD isn't displayed correctly
Currently server MOTDs set in ServerOptions.ini -> ServerDescription don't display correctly, this is a bug in the BC 2 client

How does reserved slots work in BC2?
Adding players to the reserved list in Bad Company 2 is done by adding their player names to the reservedslotslist.txt one per line. Once added please note that when the named players arent in the server the number of available slots effectively be reduced by the number of players listed. So if you have 32 player server and 10 players in reservedslotslist.txt with 4 of those named playing your server will max out at 26 players, with only the remaining 6 players listed being able to join.

And what happens to those who paid, if there isn't enough to start a server? Do we still get to join the first server at least for the time being?

Just my 2 cents, I feel that regardless or not if there are enough ppl, we should still have server 2 up, because usually the servers are filled (if not flooded) with players, and more waiting outside of the server trying hard to join.

my 2 cents is:
shared vip list is ok when there's 2 server with 64 vips.
If only there's 1 server with more than 32 vips, mostly will cause partial vips unable to join when server are full with 32 vips.

As for 2nd server, it is purely supported by community, not enough vips to support the server then is hard to get 1. Cause those "waiting outside" non-vip are not contributing in bringing up the server. they can just go find other empty server to play if the server is full.

I mod a server before and i also in IT field doing server maintenance and so on. I know it is impossible to support a server without community support. so just join in the vip slots if you guys want the 2nd server to be up asap.

just my 2cents: non-vip that didnt support the server can just go find other server to join if the server are full. that how the way it is suppose to be.

server 2 will be up regardless, hopefully we can get more vip to support this server.

the vip system will be up by end of this week , thanks to fragnetics for creating their own reserve slot system for us.

maybe if we got 2 server later , one for rush and one for conquest ( as per voted for mixed mode. but since the server do not support mixed mode have to do like that )

pros:
have vip slot on both server that have different mode. (most voted for mixed mode, so each server different mode then is the best way to go unless want stuck with just vip slot for rush mode.)

cons:
if 32 vips whoring 1 of the server, then the other VIP need to go there other server. (unless we re-vote to make both server also conquest, or rush mode only. "due to scared all like rush and dont like conquest")

I believe MBT rents the servers from Fragnetics.

Fragnetics have their own public server, but there will not be VIP slots.
As for MBT server paid to Fragnetics, because MBT renting it, and all support or subscript 1 will have VIP slot.

We are paying for our own VIP server offered by Fragnetics. Fragnetics is the one offering the server. MBT is just a clan Those who pays get a reserved slot.

fragnetic is the server provider, Mbt is a clan which rent the server slot from fragnetic.

fragnetics also provide vip access to their servers
if u pay for fragnetics vip, u can get into all of their servers even though the servers are full

pro:
fragnetics have a lot of servers, modes, maps

cons:
u'll feel lonely bcoz it's not a community server
no local admin

the server located in sg administered by MBT guys
u'll only get vip access to MBTCENTRAL.NET servers only not fragnetics servers
from previous experience with bf2142, players in mbt's server are quite challenging and fun
(unless they packed the whole MBT clan in 1 team, that would be very tough for the opponent)
that's the main point of BFBC2

Hi there, yes, you do not need to be in MBT to get a vip slot. It's open to all paying public. And upon confirmation of payment, you will then have a reserved slot in the server.

Hi, after you have made payment, pm me the receipt so that I can confirm it and your status will be updated in the first post. As for MBT Server 2, we are going to get it up and going as soon as Fragnetics gets their act together. We are communicating with them on a daily basis and highlighting to them as well the problems.

Once all the issues are resolved, you will see the server up and running. Your subscription will only start from that time and will run accordingly to the number of months you have subscribed for.

Unfortunately this is a hiccup that is caused between EA and Fragnetics and they are doing whatever it is to resolve it. The game and the servers had only been out for 9 days now and your patience is very much appreciated.
