You should already know that. All Dolby TrueHD tracks include a Dolby Digital 640Kbps embedded, it's been this way since the codec ever used on BD. This is also the same with DTS-HD Master Audio that has a core track of DTS 1.5Mbps.

Oh, is that right? Didn't know this til I watched this flick thru my friend's DD receiver...

Phuiyoh! Just bought Transformers 2 IMAX edition, came home n watched it immediately. The parts where it goes full screen is da awesome. How I wish whole show was like that. In fact, I wish all BluRay is like that. Hehehe
Just curious... do you mean "the parts where it goes full screen is da awesome" as in:

1. 1.78:1 or 1.85:1 ratio that fits 16:9 tv in general

or

2. the jawdropping clarity of IMAX full screen as seen partially in TF:RoTF & The Dark Knight?

Quickest delivery (from despatched date to my doorstep): 6 days rclxms.gif

Slowest delivery (from despatched date to my doorstep): 7 weeks doh.gif

QUOTE(Coconut @ Mar 26 2010, 12:23 PM)
is there any quality differences in terms of the bluray from amazon UK and US?

was looking at the dark knight, price difference is quite huge between this 2 sites, then i compare, one is  Aspect Ratio: 16:9 - 1.78:1 vs Aspect Ratio: 2.40:1, is this why the difference in price?
*
No significant difference as far as technical features (or quality like you mentioned)... but having said that, there are some cases like the audio issues of Transformers (UK) became softer as compared to the US version; if not mistaken... or was it Iron Man? Can't remember.... Oh ya, menu design also may differ between the 2 region releases nod.gif

For me, the apparent differences are more on the physical side of it like its packaging; eg. the nipple logo on the cover and/or the thicker plastic casing etc

Dark Knight got 2 different aspect ratio releases? I thought both aspect ratios switching back n forth in one movie release (US & UK)? hmm.gif

I am really abit confused about runtime for Toy Story 1 and @ for both US and UK versions:

Amazon US/UK info.:

.......................................US Version........................................UK Version
1. Toy Story 1......................80 mins..........................................78 mins

2. Toy Story 2......................95 mins..........................................89 mins

www.blu-ray.com info.:

.......................................US Version........................................UK Version
1. Toy Story 1......................81 mins..........................................81 mins

2. Toy Story 2......................92 mins..........................................92 mins
bluray.highdefdigest.com info.:

.......................................US Version
1. Toy Story 1......................91 mins

2. Toy Story 2......................92 mins

I think www.blu-ray.com give the most accurate info. since there should not be any different between US and UK version except packaging since distributor for both country is Disney.

Whereas, for Amazon's info., well their always make mistake.  wink.gif

And for bluray.highdefdigest.com, I think there is typo error for Toy Story 1's runtime.
*
I think they're all Toying you around with their runtime Story.... laugh.gif

Godzilla the movie? If you're refering to the movie in blu-ray, the PQ is 3 out of 5!! I'm rather disappointed actually...

No. Aspect ratio: 2.39:1 (UK version)

Aspect ratio: 2.40:1 (US version)

I was disappointed because Godzilla looked awful for a big-budget film... no effort was taken in producing this film into blu-ray. It is unsharped, blurry, muddled and showered with grain! Roland Emmerich's flicks always look pristine on blu-ray, see UniSol, The Patriot, The Day After Tomorrow or 2012... how good & almost-reference disc these are! So I was puzzled with Godzilla

I'd blame Sony for the poor transfer, they should've done better.... not that I matter much about this movie anyway, haha... biggrin.gif

For me, it'll be the opposite. If the audio is so-so, but the video is tip-top... I still rate it high.

My scenario: if I listen to a moderate or so-so movie audio track without watching the video, I can still be impressed with the sound... but if i just watch the video without sound, I can tell straight away whether the transfer is good, moderate or bad! nod.gif

I must've been living in my own world I think, haha.... laugh.gif

For me, the movie is a bit boring, no climax at all
but if u like to see 'leng chai robert' or 'leng lui kristen' with fine details, than it's worth collection considering the PQ is good
AQ wise is good also especially during the werewolves fighting scene

QUOTE(sKyWiR3pT3lTd @ Mar 27 2010, 12:40 AM)
Just finished watching 'Ghost Rider'. The following is what i feel about the disc & film.

This movie was presented in 2.40:1 widescreen 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 transfer , does not disappoint. The film has a vivid, striking visual look, with rich blacks and no print issues.

Fluctuating grain levels can be distracting, though a minor problem which only pops up a few times during the film.

Overall detail to the image is also truly excellent

Film was presented in dual uncompressed PCM 5.1 surround (48kHz/16-bit/4.6mbps) and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 surround (48kHz/20-bit) mixes. The reproduction was flawless, with no distortion or other common problems.  It's only too bad that the script to the film wasn't as impressive as the audio that accompanies it.

This disc has some solid extras, all of which are presented in 1080p, which is a big plus.

A bad comic flick but technically awesome disc with reasonable goodies.

Well, if they are based on dvd, does that mean they actually resemble in terms of region code?
*
DVD region code is usually labelled with numbers; eg - Region 1 (US, Canada), Region 2 (Europe, Japan, etc), Region 3 (SEA) etc etc... til Region 6 (but there's actually 8 regions in total)

Blu-ray region code however, labelled with alphabets; eg - Region A (US, SEA, etc), Region B (Europe, Australia, NZ, etc) & Region C (Central Asia, China, E. Europe, etc)... or even Region ABC (multi-region)

Amazon's labelling of region codes on their products are either them being lazy or have no knowledge of it... rclxub.gif

Please note that the price of Death Race (Unrated) [Blu-ray] has decreased from $17.99 to $9.99 since you placed it in your Shopping Cart. Items in your cart will always reflect the most recent price displayed on their product detail pages.

Watched Transporter 3 this morning before Arsenal v Barcelona ,the film was good! A lot of action!

Though this movie is not as good as first 2 Transporter movie but has acceptable transfer.
PQ:  Amazing video! Max High Def

AQ: The Audio is awesome! DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1, is a great audio track for the movie that is loud..
*
Agreed! TP3 rocks.... so did the first two. Jason was believable as a martial artist. Overall, a great action low-budget film... I particularly like Robert Knepper, he's on my top 5 actor who plays villain!! thumbup.gif
