There's an extra collector's card (the 7th piece) on some release from the local shop version (if you're lucky to receive one)... an exclusive limited-edition... I must say:

QUOTE(Poadster @ Apr 27 2010, 12:00 AM) Try Harvey Norman Ikano, they playing it on the 50in 3D capable 200Hz screen.... now that amazing PQ... Is that right? Maybe I should go check 'em out this weekend... well, 50" is a such a satisfying screen size for a non-projection display, let alone 3D capable 200Hz... but to get one: Still, my eyes can detect some ghosting when the action is furious or when the camera pans..... strange... |

Personally, A Bug's Life is still my favourite of all Pixar's CGI-ed animated feature to date... I remember it being the world's first - straight from hard disk to dvd transfer with no intermediate (ie - film). Though the CGI a bit out-dated, technically speaking To be honest, i've not seen this animated film before. Not even once. |

One thing about Spielberg, he loves 1.85:1 aspect ratio on most of his movies (except Minority Report; the one that comes to mind)... so it'll be a full-on experience on full screen on our 16:9 tv; hence no black bars... given some of us didn't like black bars.

i think Saving Private Ryan has more audio demo quality than PQ given the transfer was too stylised & grainy to my taste. but that judgement only based on dvd, the bd might change my mind...

Just wondering why the so-called Sapphire Series have so many flaws & shortcomings given it suppose to be the flagship/pinnacle of all editions

QUOTE(aiman04 @ May 7 2010, 11:38 AM) I can see your point. But I think it's still too early to give a verdict on the Sapphire Series. Forrest Gump and Braveheart are nothing short of magnificent. Gladiator's transfer was taken from an old one that was done by Universal, not Paramount. And as you mentioned, a remastered version is on its way, though nothing official yet. And all the Sapphire Series never fails to deliver extensive bonus features on the second disc. I totally agree with you there because I do owned the ultra-fabulous Braveheart & Gladiator. Even with Gladiator's flaw, the whole disc still rates high on my list of favourites. Yup, the slip-ups are really minor but the whole package would've been perfect sans those hiccups.... maybe expectations are high because those titles on SS are really top of the line and people want the best perfect version once and for all. This lip sync issue in Saving Private Ryan is really minor, in my opinion not even worth mentioning. The sound is so engaging, enveloping, detailed, crisped, superbly designed and edited it's just topped my list of the best sound on BD ever, taking over from Avatar which held the crown for less than 2 weeks (capped at 25Hz maybe but the overall experience was out-of-this-world). Seriously, this is the best sound I've ever heard, as peasant my home theater is, no theater I've ever went to ever sounds this good. And we've got a seriously misunderstood cinematography that gives the picture that artsy look to match. I say this is another winner in the Sapphire Series. QUOTE(maskedchan @ May 7 2010, 02:44 PM) Got a lot of titles in my cart for quite sometime now... some even titles from end of last year eg. Terminator Salvation, GI Joe, District 9, 2012 etc etc. Just waiting for the right time, right price to press the green light. Moreover, need funds on other matters at the mo Shaving Ryan's Private is one of my favourite on the list.... but the lip-sync issue does leave a bad taste in the mouth knowing that it would've been a perfecto release to date. But having said that, I might change my mind if this title does fall below USD15.... |

"Product Alert: Due to a manufacturer error in the audio quality of this Blu-ray Disc, this product is no longer available. A corrected product will be available for sale shortly. We greatly apologize for any inconvenience."
Hmmm... I bet Amazon did get lots of complains from customers. Hopefully, Paramount will rectify this problem... |
