if u r using ios4 u have multi tasking in ur 3gs..just double click ur home button and see wut happens

3G 16Gb can easily be jailbreak and unlock..
google it, quite easy,
or just pay fewty bucks to ask ppl unlock for u

it will automatically updated to the latest firmware which is for now is os4.0.1..

hi..im on jb 3.1.3... how unjb back my unit...btw im on 3g maxis set n itunes 9.1

if u planing to upgrade to iOS 4 (which is highly not recommended coz its gonna be slow on iPhone 3G)

download the offline installer for iOS 4.0 or 4.0.1

restore it offline (have to put ur phone into DFU Mode)


if u planning just to unjb ur 3.1.3 firmware

just go to Settings > General > Reset Settings > Erase All Data & Contents

yup, it will erase all your contents including contacts and sms

u can backup ur phone first

later after reset, restore ur backup

no need to upgrade ur itunes to 9.2 (unless u planning to upgrade to iOS 4)

Im afraid you cant preserve 3.1.3, straight to IOS4.01.

I know he did JB. JB doesnt mean he got the shsh saved. Unless he press "make your life easier".

For now you try this method i elaborate below.
1) Download the ipsw file for firmware 3.1.3
2) put your phone in DFU mode.
3) Shift restore and select the ipsw file
4) Will then auto restore
5) Sit still and see result

If there is any error encounter after step 3) then you have no luck. You have to upgrade to 4.0 or 4.01 after that.

Btw, did you save shsh via cydia before?
