pharmacy kinda involves biology (physiology, to be exact) and chemistry, doesn't it?

you come from SPM chemistry? You have so much more to learn. Good to know you're interested in it. Just be sure that that interest stays with you for as long as it takes to complete your ambition.

take A levels. In my opinion if you can study for it, always go for the one with a wider option. Time is nothing to young people like us.

IMHO Most people know what they want to do after a pre-U (either because they realise the knowledge involved or Pre-U sparked the true interest). Post-SPM students should not be making that decision now.

My personal experience: when small, I wanted to be a computer engineer (that time (UPSR) I knew nothing about it, juz know computer damn nice), then i wanted to be a cardiologist ( (PMR) that time still dunno much about bio), then I want to be a psychologist ( (SPM) kinda interested in human thinking, thank god for the inner scientist in me to stop me), and for a while I wanted to study sociology ( (STPM) wanted to quit science). But being interested in mechanics has always been a part of me. So, here I am, waiting to study mechanical engineering (thanks Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman).

Maybe my 'interest' is still changing... Shiat....

organic. Walau paling scary punya. So many synthesises to memorise, so many variations of molecules to memorise. Actually still ok la compared to inorganic.

Staring at the wall will lead to staring at the monitor, and eventually leads to staring at youtube, laughing spontaneously. haha.

"He recently applied for a job at a reputable engineering firm and was on the verge of being accepted, when he was informed that his degree was not recognised by the Board of Engineers, Malaysia."

The thing is the author did not mention whether his son get the job or not. That's the piece of info that I want to know most since most ppl i asked say 3 year degree w/o BEM accreditation is good enough for work, accreditation only needed for consultation work.

So, what is that fella trying to say? Hired or shown the exit?

MEng is not by option, is by qualification. You qualify only can choose to do or not. If grades not good enough, then no option of doing MEng.

Anyone have any methods of contacting the author of the said letter? I really want to know whether the son got employed or not.

lol. A lot of ppl don't know about that ma. My dad still ask me to this very day:"the program you 'register' is 4 year or 3 year program ah?". Then I have to explain everything all over again. In the end I get a stoneface.jpg.

for scottish degree then yes, A levels/STPM can straight opt for 2nd year entry. (I know coz I apply edinburgh. Get but no money go sad.gif ) But they study 4 years after 1st year also to get MEng.

Anyway in the Chartered Engineer (UK) wiki page, there got say they indeed require MEng, or an appropriate masters program upon completion of a bachelor's.

And "recognise" and "accredit" 2 kinda different thing, right? Accreditation is needed for consultation, right?

The Industrial Revolution started in Great Britain. That kinda says a lot about their contribution to engineering. Though other countries start to share the cake like Germany being automobile Mecca, Japan being Robotics Mecca and so on.

Oh yeah, was UNMC invited to participate in the Shell Eco-Challenge Asia and the Perodua modify-a-Viva Challenge? Weird to see only IPTAs invited to those 2 events...

^ fonts and drawing style looks awfully like from XKCD. Haha. But pretty spot on. Google can provide the link to a page of the school's site easier than the site itself.

I would actually wish none of my friends went to the same uni. Actually forces you to socialise, which is another important skill to sharpen. Did that in F6, ended up wit another bunch of great friends.

For the record, in terms of 'ranking' Monash has always outscored Nottingham. Even the score for each segment also outscore. But, unless they hold an Olympiad pitching students from every university against each other in some empirical test, or else there isn't a real way to telling which is better than which.

^huh? which part? Might wanna clarify that boss...

EDIT: you mean the 'best university' part? LOL 'best' is a very subjective adjective ma.... Can't say who's wrong or right ma... I might say the Nissan GTR is the best car, but you might say the Ferrari F430.

aiyo, in the end of the day, a degree is to cari makan ma. Can cari makan enough lo.

*takes cover b4 anti-IPTA come shoot me*

@zstan, no, the 'tier' thing in Setara is terbalik from what is the norm in international standards. So, internationally, Tier 1 is like the elite schools.

UNott is considered Tier wat ah? Nottingham Trent is Tier-3, right?

Ah I thought a good analogy. Tier system is much like the social class in society. It's not official, but it's just taken as it is.

But locally, Nott and Monash graduates are considered competitive candidates, right?

@Cenarius, isn't it a bit too late to be applying? Induction is a month from now, and the earliest they can reply is 2 weeks later. Why so late though?

I'm fairly confident that as long as your results satisfy the requirements, you'll be given entry.
