QUOTE(Seng_Kiat @ Sep 25 2010, 08:30 PM) guys, this is a JRpassHow is JRpass works? .. I only know it is a transportation pass .. how far we can go with JR, etc? .. I am thinking of paying transportation rather than hotel .. at least we can visit more place .. just travel 6-7 per day at night time would save my budget .. ![]() on the inside, there's a rubberstamp chop on when is the start date(you can choose what date you want upon collecting the pass, they will chop on the spot). from the start date, its valid for 7days. to use it, you show it to the gatekeeper upon entering/exiting the station. only valid for transportation under JR. Not useable for private lines!! only get the JR pass if you travel long distance and use shinkansen. Im not sure bout tokyo, but in Kobe/Kyoto/Osaka/Nagoya have an unlimited day pass that can be attained from tourist info counter in main stations. ![]() hope these helps *i learnt all these from uncle google, and i know 0 japanese |

suica is useful when
a: you hate carrying coins b: you want to avoid hassle of queue buying JR tickets c: you frequent buy small things at konbini d: you hate carrying coins e: you hate carrying coins f: all of the above putting loads of monies in suica is not a wise idea as what would you do if you misplaced/lost the suica. credit card is a wiser option for big spending. this is a day pass in nagoya ![]() |

QUOTE(matt85 @ Oct 1 2010, 08:50 PM) Rindu siaaal Jepun after seeing your pics in 2009, i use my kitlens 18-70.. at that point at most was profile tweak under vivid.Btw, i'm using A300 too. How did you get such contrasty shots ? Long exposures or lens ? Might sharing some tips ? in 2010 i use mostly 17-50F2.8 tamron for walk around, and 28mm primes for cosplay shots. in 2011, maybe fullframe and prime walkarounds you can always post process the jpegs/raws. i still havent decided when is my next trip, but im aiming to go sapporo hokkaido |

QUOTE(muse@muse @ Jan 25 2011, 04:17 PM) If i get the rail pass, then do i need to reserve seats on the shinkansen to osaka?or we can just turn up @ the station? yes, you can just hop on w/o reservation seat. car-1-6 hikari is open seating, 1st come 1st get basis.Since the route start from Tokyo, high chance you'll get a seat. stay away from car 3(or was it 4). its a smoking zone, you'll die fast |

for internal Tokyo moving around, Suica/Pasmo is sufficient.
I think you can even go for a 1 day pass JR ridesin tokyo as well, but i dont quite know where to get it. (I do know Kyoto, Osaka,Nagoya have these) Between JR stations is like 120yen --- wat happen to picnic plans under sakura tree yo? This post has been edited by e-jump: Feb 21 2011, 01:14 PM |

>2 disasters
moar like 3 (minus the volcano eruption which is less critical). The earthquake pretty much damage roads n facilities, although the tsunami did a whole ground wipeout and radiation nuke leaks (which is least likely for now to do human wipeout) took lives |
