QUOTE(blackrobin @ Apr 18 2010, 09:09 PM)
i just got my e72 recently. It doesnt have nokia chat preinstalled... so i downloaded da apps from nokia beta..tried both e75/e71.. since e71 is only FP1, da chat icon looks distorted on my e72.. but with e75 it was normal however, da screen orientation was off because of the nature of the device(e75)

Any solutions?

One more thing.i wana know if doing a CTRL A combo in ur nokia chat produces a weird symbol, a square instead of its usual function of "select all"

any app that u installed recently? some of the apps automatically checks for update. so u gotta be careful on that smile.gif

I am a new owner of E72 smile.gif

My previous phone was SE W660i and that was my best phone before this (my best nokia phone was 3220i). So I'm facing difficulties to play around with E72. Hope I can seek help here and don't mind with my noob questions blush.gif

That is the beauty of Nokia for certain model including your E72. It's TOTALLY free for any maps in the world and voice navigation. For life.

To do everything for free, you have to:
1. Download any of the world's map into PC from Nokia website. And then transfer from PC to phone using Bluetooth or cable.
2. Download the voice navigation in any language using the same above method.
3. Disable AGPS or Network based receiving of satellite signal. But if you do not mind paying 5 or 10sen/use, it's far better to enable AGPS for far faster receiving of signal (less than 5 seconds vs a few minutes of waiting - assuming you are in the open air).

Correct me if I am wrong. With Garmin, you can have free Malaysia map from Malfree etc and those are not from Garmin. For other maps of the world from Garmin, you have to pay.

Again correct me if I am wrong. For iphone, you can only have your maps delivered in your phone via telco and in the country you are in. For example, if you wanted Japan map, you have to be in Japan and download it from Japan telco. I don't even want to know the charges involved.

Not sure of other software in other phone.

But once out of Malaysia, you have to pay for the other country's map. For USA map, I heard it is over USD100+. And if you should decided to have maps of many countries, the total cost may be more than your phone.

As for Ovi maps, while it may not be perfect, it is still better than nothing.

Emails doesn't seem to be working... After I type in my yahoo username/password, it just returns to normal screen and nothing happens...

Only hotmail works which installed automatically after installing Windows Live Messenger...

Setting up Lotus Notes failed as well, tried both http and https... Do we need to change the ports or something?
*
I also encountered the same problem. When I tried to set up Yahoo, Gmail or Hotmail, it just return to normal "email setup" screen and nothing happens. I hope to set up emails using Wifi only and only use wifi when checking emails. Anyone out there with good solution for this problem? Appreciate your help...thanks...
