No need antivirus, unless you install some unknown application  tongue.gif

What about reading email with virus attachment on the phone? Or surfing to some virus infected website?

Added on March 6, 2010, 12:11 pmA quick surf on Internet came up with this.

http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/03/03/h...ll-phone-virus/

So does Nokia provide any anti-virus software preinstalled on the new phone?

Most of the attachment file ending in .exe, .com or .bat should be careful when you open at window OS
For symbian device, you should careful of attachment file ending in .sisx .sis or .jar

Thanks. Knew about the .exe etc in PC but not the .sis etc in phone.

ha. may be Nokia can go teach Microsoft a lesson or 2. With Windows, virus is top on my list to be careful about.

Assuming I have all my contact numbers and to-do-list in my calender in some Microsoft Words or Excel format. Is there a way to transfer those information to the new phone?

Hi. I got a E52 but this thread seems to be more active so asking this wifi question here.

I am not sure whether it is the phone or my wireless router the problem.

Sometime the phone can detect my own router but most of the time, it can't. But if I switch on refresh with the WLAN wizard, it can detect routers (for example Router-A, Router-B etc) belonging to other people's. Sometime only Router-A and not Router-B and vice versa. Any idea what's the problem?

Here's another newbies question.

Assuming I found XX WLAN in a public area or Starbuck and I wanted to go online. Select "Start web browsing" and it asked for "WLAN Network name". What name should I put?

Thanks

I used Nokia Ovi to transfer and couldn't find where it is on the phone either. Pressing "refresh" solved it.

Hav u ever sent out a mms b4? I suggest u do it once 1st.. Normally since tis is a smart phone.. It will auto configure everything once u plug in d sim card and turn it on.. So for ur case.. U may also call digi customer service and tell them bout it..

With Maxis, you have to give them a call and they send you an SMS and you saved that SMS into your phone. Only then can you receive MMS.

You need to switch ON A-GPS in order to get satellite lock
*
AGPS cost about 10 or 20 sen each time you connect. And it only takes a few seconds to locate the satellite.

Without AGPS, I can still locate the satellite but takes much longer. Ranges from 1/2 to 5 minutes.

I tried using the GPS with AGPS on, just trying to locate my position & scroll a bit nearby me, then I back check my balance. It's already charge me around RM1.00. btw, I'm using Pre-Paid Hotlink.

May I know if I use AGPS to lock on the position, then Off the AGPS because just want it to lock it fast only.
After that still can use the Maps for navigation or not ? or must ON the A-GPS all the way ?
*
For Maxis post paid, the charges are 1 sen per KB of data. Each AGPS request is worth <5KB or <5 sen. Not sure of other Telco or pre-paid.

The A-GPS request, is it use for initial lock-on GPS device time only rite. or it will keep requesting whenever we're in a navigation in a routes.
If I'm using this GPS functions, I don't mind charged me once only on Satelite Lock-on using A-GPS, after that I can freely use my Free Navigation in town biggrin.gif

Your best bet is to set the phone to seek your permission 'EVERY TIME" it wanted to get data from the Telco. That way, you can decide whether to allow it or not.

From my experience so far, once it has a lock on the satellite, it will not make any further request for satellite location data from Telco. But if you switched off the GPS and then move to a different location, it's a different story.

Again from my experience, if you keep your GPS on for too long, it will very quickly suck dry your battery. So it is a case of leaving the GPS on all the time or turning it off and when arriving at new location, use AGPS again and pay 5 sen more.

Hey guys is this a good internet phone? If you like surfing facebook will it be easy to move around?

IMO, if Internet is your main priority, you should not be looking at the E72. You should be looking at the iphone or phone that runs on Window Mobile or Andriold. My 2 sen. Those have much bigger screen and moving through the menu is like night and days in term of ease.

Got something I still haven't figured it out. How do you set the phone remind you of someone's birthday every year?

Ignore me if I don't know what I am talking about. Have you tried pressing Key "5" first?

Have anyone tried switching on their GPS continuously and know how long does your battery last? Assuming it's a new battery and fully charged. 4 hours? 8 hours? 12 hours?

having the problem to setup yahoo mail on e72. keep prompt me password incorrect even i already triple time to double check and resetup.

I had the same problem with the E52until I found out there are certain symbols that the phone don't seem to be able to recognize/accept. For example, symbol like #@*&^% will not be accepted. Once I use plain vanilla ABC and 123 as password, no more problem.
