Game Fest 2

Description of the event:
Good day everyone, Game Fest is going to hit the town again in this coming March! This event is organized by the Multimedia University Game Developers Club for the second time and it will be held from 27th to 28th March 2010.
Game Fest 2 surely will take you further to bring you behind the scenes to see the process of game development, right from the drawing board to the actual conceptualization. It will answer all your questions about game designs and how they are made to thrill. There are sub-events such as Game Development, E-games, Console Games, Board and Card Games, Self-Interest Games (e.g. yoyo, pen spinning, and Rubik cube).
Registration Procedure
Since many of the participants are having doubts and not so sure about the previous registration procedure, we have simplified it to a much simple way:

Around 10 different kinds of board and card games will be exhibited and visitors are freely to explore the game. Examples of available board and card games are Blokus, BANG!, Citadels and many others. There is also a Giant Monopoly provided by Hasbro that visitors can play with.

There will be XBOX 360 and also PS3 for all of you to play and it’s free!! There are varieties of games waiting for all of you to come and try it out!!
Main attraction is that we will be having a Modern Warfare 2 LAN that will surely bring up the heat!
Then we also will have a Guitar Hero World Tour Music demo which we will be testing out some new gadgets or accessories.

How does this competition run?
Contestant will be given a theme on that day the event run. After that, contestants are required to design and model out the character in a t-pose and furthermore render it out on JPEG format.
How are we going to judge your work?
The work of the contestant will be judged by their creativity and technical skill of modeling.
Our Judges will consist of lecturers from various universities.
Flash Game Design Competition
How does this competition run?
We will announce a theme for the game in our website during 8-14 February 2010. Contestants who wish to participate can register at our blog or official website and start designing the flash game. The game can be any genre as long as it is related to our theme. After that we will choose the best 30 out of all the contestant and they will qualify to the final round. The final round will be running on 27th of March 2010. On that day, we will give back all the source code and files submitted to us and contestants are required to enhance their game on that day itself.
How are we going to judge your work?
We will judge your work based on your creativity, art and the technical skill you used. Our panel of judges will be consisting of lecturers from various universities.

Self Interest-Games:

Game Fest 2 :: Self-Interest Games
The Self-interest games division consists of games related to self-interest, such as Rubik’s cube (a.k.a speed cubing or puzzle solving), cups stacking (a.k.a speed stacking or sport stacking), yoyo, pen spinning, and more.
Competitions
There will be competition for the 3x3x3 Rubik’s Cube and the registration fee is RM5, certificates will be given to all participants, medals and prizes will be awarded to the top 3 fastest people who can solve a Rubik’s cube. The format is will be average of 5 solves, which means solve 5 times and take away the fastest and slowest time and get the mean of the remaining 3 solves. The World Cube Association rules and regulations will be applied to the competition. (http://www.worldcubeassociation.org/regulations/).
Demonstrations and Workshops
Top players of Malaysia for Rubik’s cube, cup stacking, yoyo, pen spinning will be invited to Gamefest 2010. There will be demonstrations, performances, and workshops for Rubik’s cube, cups stacking, yoyo, and pen spinning. Want to see the “magic” and learn from them? Come and visit the Self-Interest Games’ booth in Gamefest 2.
