vios, city, swiff, myvi and new persona... which is the fastest car?

Added on May 7, 2010, 10:29 pmtalking one of the problem on the stock brake pad... i had drove my elegant m-line for 300km now, the first 200km doesn't felt much grip, but after the pad run in, now the grip starting to glue on the wheels... i guess i don't have to change the brake pads as i thought i wanted to after getting the car...

Guys, thanks for the info on the vios, myvi, city and swiff cars compared with persona... it is a good info for all of us if we met those driver who want to have a test with our ride on the road happy.gif but guys, do drive safe ya!

these few days i was doing some research on the fuel that my elegance (auto) is consuming. i notice there is some difference between what i had calculated. when i was taking data on the meter reader, it says that i was using 13L/100km = RM0.234sen per km (ron95); but when i pump full tank and used until empty, compared with my KM that i have traveled, i was surprised that my car actually consume RM0.163 per km. the driving style that i used is light footed on the acceleration and try to maintain below 3k rpm and was drive 50% in town area 50% on highway. one thing i also notice is that when the speed reach 110km/h, the rpm is below 3k. this is a very good sign, the lower the rpm, the more fuel we will save.

for the sound prove in the cabin, i think the next step proton has to do is to make the engine sound more beautiful. YUP! MORE BEAUTIFUL! why? take Porch or Ferrari or the American muscle car - the "Mustang", what do they have in common? Yes, the engine sound. I use to have a Citroen with 147hp under the hood. the sound insulation in the cabin is very good, driving at 200km/h with minimal wind sound can have easy listening to my favorite music, but wait, this is not the best part, the best part is to FEEL the heart of your car when you put your foot on the throttle. the roaring of the engine tells you that: "yes master! i'm ready to do what ever speed you demand!" makes you go further without any mercy! But what kind of massage that our proton campro give you when you step on the throttle? nope, it is not that bad, but i think you guys out there will agree that our engine still have plenty of room to improve.

talk back the good things: the previous version persona have poor radio reception, proton have improve this. stock brake pad that doesn't have much grip, after my pad had run in, it work fine but those pad powder on my rims are not friendly at all, specially the elegance rims (not wash friendly)... i like the stock horn (it is loud!) and not forgetting the alarm too! stock sound system is great. air con is like hurricane.

the bad thing still continue: back brake drum got tak tak tak sound. the front right wheel arm got metal knocking sound when cornering on uneven road. less head room for the driver sit.

i have a friend who is those ppl who like to modify their cars.
when i told him that i have 5 year warranty for my elegance and won't want to void it and on the other hand wish to improve the car's performance, what should i do?

he just tell me to change two things.

1. change the stock spark plugs to "Bosch Platinum Iridium Fusion"
2. change the stock air intake filter to "K & N or HKS’ high-performance Super Hybrid Filters.

any solution to solve the "tak tak tak" sound?
*
easy, just go to SC and tell them your problem. they will know what to do, coz most of the persona have the same problem.

my car's mileage reaching 100k, what need to be change, spark plug, air filter, oil filter and engine oil right, is there any more? what is the best performance airfilter for persona old versiaon m line manual tranny? open pod? drop in? K&N brand ok or not?
*
hummm.... i think K&N should be better than HKS filter... i just had my elegant beginning of the month and will change the spark plug to Bosch Platinum Iridium Fusion and K&N drop in filter on the 10k service.

i have one info for those who want to buy the New Persona Elegance.
i came to know that they don't have the Extended Warranty for the car anymore... Meaning, they only have 2 year warranty from Proton and that's it... no more 2+3 years warranty... BEWARE!

mine is below 1k... should be around 900rpm to 950rpm... might need to turn your car when you go for your service.

Added on May 23, 2010, 3:06 pmmy elegance is reaching 550km, the FC when i got my car was 14.5l/100km and now is 10.0l/100km... 85% of the 550km was light footed on the acceleration and below 3k rpm most of the time...

maybe most of you guys out there know this, but for those who don't know, then it will be an additional info for yours to share:

notice there are buttons above your audio head unit, the button with the a dot in the circle is for disarming your alarm system when you use key entry during your alarm system is active. there is another usage for this button, it can also be use to open your door lock while you are inside the car. try it...
