Quite high on idle. I think you need to service your laptop already.
Clean the dust & reapply the thermal compound. |

QUOTE(Najmods @ Sep 7 2011, 12:24 AM) I managed to reduce the hot palmrest area on my lappy by putting some paper underneath it because there is plenty of voltage regulator underneath it heating up the area. It reduce the temperature immensely, it just barely warm now instead of uncomfortably warm. Cool.. will try that when i feel like opening my lappy. |

QUOTE(drunkonpiss @ Nov 22 2011, 04:37 PM) Im using an acer 5750G.. i5 running on GT 540M gpu..heard about some problems regarding cougar point.. I got scared about it.. any symptoms that could cause it? It is not possible to undervolt SandyBridge processors. Try ThrottleStop instead. Limit the multiplier so the proc will run on lower speed or no TurboBoost, hence lower temperature. |

QUOTE(Kenichi88 @ Apr 17 2012, 02:35 PM) Hey I have Asus N55 and I found that the bottom side does not have any vents at all except the one on the side, which blows air OUT. So does that means using a cooler won't give any effects at all? I am concern of overheat issues since I'm playing heavy games like Battlefield 3, Crysis 2, etc. Last time I played the heat was over 80C. For a laptop especially when u live in Msia, >80c is pretty normal when u play game like BF3. You can disable TurboBoost to get lower temperature. |

^ Is disabling TurboBoost reduce the fps so much? Have u try it? because it can reduce your max temp from 4c-10c.
Also.. use vsync or limit the frame rate to 60fps when u play game because no point getting higher than that and it only increase your temperature. |
