Just bought a Cooler Master Notepal U2 (~RM60+).... it is rather impressive, especially the movable/ removable fans, thus more efficient cooling + easy to clean XD XD

QUOTE(dead_psycho @ Mar 26 2010, 04:19 PM) The Cooler Master NotePal U2 I'm using is claim to be able to use even for 17' laptops. So far no problems using it on my 15.6' laptop... I like the adjustable fans which can be placed directly beneath the heat sinks for better cooling, summore easy to clean ^____^ Its RM 68 though, lower than your desired budget hehe~ There are other nice coolers from CM and Zalman but I'm not sure they are easy to clean or not. |

QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Apr 4 2010, 06:48 AM) Yea. IMHO if one wants to buy a USB powered notebook cooler, this is not really an ideal choice. However, if one wants performance wise and not really care about this matter, then this should be fit your requirements! Neverheless, the vid. below shows one of the owner who just powered his/ her notebook by just using USB port. WOW |

Hihi dear Sifus,
I was just wondering, usually how do you all measure the effectiveness of the Cooler pad? Just use a temperature measuring program and screenshot (gaming and non-gaming)? Planning to test the Cooler Master Notepal U2 on my F60 hehe Thank you very muchie! This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 19 2010, 01:14 AM |

QUOTE(herofire86 @ Sep 12 2010, 10:50 AM) my tip.. +1, this should be done whenever one is using a laptop without a cooler, and especially when one is not in an air-conditioned room try putting 4 matchboxes on each edge(of course do not put the matches, replace it something else). pretty much it improves ventilation and can reduce temperature by 4-5 degrees I'm not sure whether it decreases temperatures up to 4-5 degrees but it sure improves ventilation |

QUOTE(alvinkhorfire @ Oct 9 2010, 08:03 PM) So, what are the factors that determines the suitability of a cooling pad to a laptop? From what I have read from the first post, it should be budget, cooler fan position, cooling material and fan speed. Correct me if I am wrong, I believe that the screen size of the laptop and the laptop weight are also very important, right? What are other factors? Yeah, the size is important... as for the weight, not that much I think unless one is using an Alienware M17x Thank you for the advice given. The number/size of heat vents on the bottomside of the laptop will also undoubtedly affect the suitability of the cooler pad... |

QUOTE(k-bkeat @ Dec 10 2010, 06:40 PM) after all my surveys. there are onli 2 choices for u. cooler master u2 or zalman nc1000. i also duno which one better. Whether U2 works well or not really depends on the laptop... different laptop may have different results... But basically the more vents underneath the laptop, the better the cooling will be for U2 since you can move the fans to the hottest spots... If unsure, Zalman cooler pads will probably cool better than CMs |

QUOTE(ngkhanmein @ Dec 14 2010, 01:32 PM) CM a lot fake.. Zalman look solid.. u see quality between both of it.. u will understand Zalman is better. Well, I agree there's quite a few of those copy-cat versions of CM cooler pads, but you won't find the same "Cooler Master" words there actually as long your laptop get less heat.. the lifespan of laptop would be good.. my bro example using problematic compaq v3000.. a lot users complaint it.. but till now my bro still use it.. he bought rm2.3k that time.. he take care it well.. just quite hot on palm there.. Zalman is much more dearer so its by nature that it should be of better quality... right? Yeah, so for those who wants a long-lasting laptop, try getting laptops without dedicated GPUs hehe |

QUOTE(holoman @ Dec 15 2010, 04:48 PM) hais,i just got prob with my u2 Perhaps you should check whether the decreased fan speed is due to dust clogging the fan? 1 of my fan like "rosak",cuzĀ it spin more slower than b4 .. not as fast as the other one .. cooler master got 1 year warranty right ? will claim for warranty when im back to jb later haiss,i hate this kind of problem It happens from time to time since most users will only tend to clean off the dusts on the fan blades themselves and neglected the ones at the region around the blade tips... You can try cleaning it with cotton buds Oh ya, hair getting stucked on the motor cylinder will also significantly decrease fan speed This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Dec 15 2010, 04:52 PM |

QUOTE(iane @ Jan 2 2011, 11:21 PM) Hi New to laptop cooling thing. Bought a Dell XPS 15 just recently. Played l4d2 on it and it was so soooo HOT (on the left side) Perhaps you can try Cooler Master U2 (12-14" but can ngam ngam fit 15.6") or Cooler Master U3 (15.6-17) I did something naive by just lifting the back part of the laptop by resting it on a cellotape, providing gap of contact between the btm of the laptop and the table. (does that contribute in cooling? o.O) Anyways, wantedt o ask on what is the best cooler for it? =) 15.6'' size I think my budget would be around RM100 plus minus... Added on January 3, 2011, 10:14 am QUOTE(gantzcry @ Jan 2 2011, 10:14 PM) hi Cooler Master U2/U3 has adjustable fans, perhaps can give those a try?i bought cooler master notepal x2 for may inspiron 15r.. but it seems that the GC is still heating up because for this cooler, the fan is in the middle...but there is one more vent on the left side...and its hot.. what other cooler that u all can recommend for my lappy?
