Missed the Skynett delivery today haihs... my work doesn't allow me to use postage T_____T
And I can't believe I still cannot find a power adapter

My area not much electronics shop... the one which sells them do not meet my requirements.. usually the mah is too low

Cannot fit lo.... the U2 is not really mod-friendly since there's not much space because its tilted, and most of the nice fans are thick (as pointed out by lee_what2004 sifu)
Even the Artic Cool F12 fans barely fits in...
It is suitable for the M14x though since the vents are at the top left and right haha, lucky lucky

Directly under the vents... just ignore the smallest one (got 3 vents iirc)

Hi guys, here are the results for the F12 (Artic Cooling) modded version of the Notepal U2
Many thanks to lee_what2004 sifu for showing me how to mod one from scratch
and thanks to AlexLai sifu for introducing those impressive F12 fans

Stress Tests
**Ambient temperature is 27C throughout the following tests.

AW M14x without cooler, placed on normal office desk
Furmark + IntelBurnin test results:

Max CPU temp (avg): 98C
Max GPU temp: 76C
Time completion for IntelBurnin: 425.13s



AW M14x with U2 cooler [fans removed]
Furmark + IntelBurnin test results:

Max CPU temp (avg): 98C
Max GPU temp: 74C
Time completion for IntelBurnin: 408.19s



AW M14x with modded U2 [fan speed maximum, 12v]
Furmark + IntelBurnin test results:

Max CPU temp (avg): 97.75C
Max GPU temp: 73C
Time completion for IntelBurnin: 399.78s




Verdict:
- Temperature results are not really good, probably because of the small vents at the bottom of the M14x.
- GPU temperatures are affected more by the cooling as they're located directly "beneath" the vent. The CPU is much "deeper" (at the center) of the laptop, hence harder to cool.
- The F12 120mm fans are very, very powerful. In fact they're so powerful that most of the air got deflected and came out from the side of the cooler pad hehe Oh ya, the M14x's fan noise [prior to the A05 BIOS update], is still louder than the 2x F12's noise
- It was a fun experience haha

I see haha, but the only way to reduce the temps more is to use air-con

I din't do separate tests with lifting and no lifting haha, but the results posted are with the U2 lifted abit already

Yeah, the fans are huge, that's why its not really possible to mod the U2 if your laptop vents are at the front end

The HDD temp difference are not significant here because the tests were carried out at a different time
The cooling efficiency is reduced because of the lack of vents at the bottom of the M14x... the modified F12 fans are very, very powerful

I can't move the fans down two holes because the F12 fans are too thick, later the cooler pad cannot stand already

Still, mind sharing why placing them at the center will improve airflow? I dun really understand, sorry noob here
