QUOTE(shankar_dass93 @ Dec 20 2010, 09:33 PM) greetings hikari, You will get your book list during the first day of orientation. Yeah there are lockers in lakeside that you can rent. i have got myself enrolled with taylors foundation in business for the january intake. can i know when will i get my book list ? do u know how much does the books for the foundation normally come up to ? btw, does the lakeside campus provide lockers ? Books will cost about RM 60 per subject. Certain Subjects like Accounting 1 and 2 and Econs 1 and 2 uses the same book. QUOTE(xzjasonzx @ Dec 20 2010, 09:45 PM) Comparing ADP program to bachelor degree in USA or Canada, the 1st year in ADP is equivalent to 1st year of university or pre-university? the 1st year of ADP is equivalent to the 1st year of a US Degree. But if you only do 1 year of ADP and want to transfer to Aussie, then you start from zero like a pre-u student entering degree.QUOTE(Calvin28 @ Dec 20 2010, 09:50 PM) HI Hikari..i have decided to enrol TBF actually but after knowing that their partner Unis arent that prestigious,im starting to have second thoughts..could you kindly tell me is there anything i can do?thx What made you choose TBF over other pre-u programmes? So are you planning to complete your Degree in Malaysia? If your planning to transfer somewhere you can always transfer to a better University after your first year Degree in Taylor's. Taylor's has a few articulation agreements for a 1+2 through their UniSA Degree. They have articulation agreements to credit transfer to 1. RMIT 2. University of Western Australia 3. University of Queensland 4. University of Technology Sydney and you can also credit transfer to other Aussie unis on a case-by-case basis. You can also try to use TBF to go to other Universities for Degree. Or you could try looking at other programmes. |

So why going to Canada directly requires pre-u (Canada pre-u, A Level, STPM...) which makes a total of 5 years until bachelor degree, whereas going to ADP after SPM only takes 4 years in total to get a bachelor degree? |

I dont plan to complete my degree in Malaysia,my parents top choice is in Australia.. so your saying that i can still enroll in the TBF, after completing it,apply to other Unis for degree programmes or either take my first year at Taylor's Uni and den credit transfer over to the Unis in Aussie? So are you planning to complete your Degree in Malaysia? I'm not very familiar with Canada's education system so I can't say much on it. Probably they require you to have at least 12 years of formal education before you can enter their Degree programmes directly while we can enter some US universities directly with SPM + SAT so with that in mind ADP being equivalent to a US degree accepts students with just SPM.QUOTE(Calvin28 @ Dec 21 2010, 11:29 AM) well, first of all i've already made up my mind that business is the going to be a part of my future..and from the feed backs i received from many...the TBF is a fantastic business foundation..i was actually planning to enroll on the open day but when when my dad asked them about their uni partners, the answer gave me doubts.. If your planning to go to Aussie TBF is well accepted. I know a friend who continued their Degree in Aussie after TBF, he applied to most of the Go8 unis except Melbourne and Sydney and got offers from all of them recognizes TBF and he also applied to all the 5 ATN unis and only University of Technology Sydney seems to not recognize TBF. From the conditional offers he has that I've seen some of the requirements are Uni of Adelaide - Weighted Average Marks (WAM) 70 Monash Uni (Bachelor of Business & Commerce course) - WAM 65 University of Queensland - WAM 65 University of Western Australia - WAM 65 Curtin University - WAM 60 University of Tasmania - WAM 60 These requirements are not hard to meet lol ^^" Also yeah like I said through the UniSA programme you can credit transfers to other Universities in Aussie after your first year. Taylor's has articulation agreements for their UniSA programme to transfer to UQ, RMIT, UTS and UWA. This agreements make it easier for the assessment of credits as it is already agreed on paper which units is equivalent to which unit while you can also credit transfer to other Aussie unis though others would ask for details of the course structure and syllabus for them to assets to see if the units you took in Taylor's is equivalent to theirs so make sure to keep the copy of syllabus and structure if the lecturer post it on your first day of classes for the subjects or if not you could also request from the divisional office later of when you are trying to credit transfer. |

QUOTE(minshuen @ Dec 22 2010, 09:17 AM) hello hikari can you give me a rough figure of the whole Taylor's law course included the possible living expenses around that area and UK for three years?thanks in advance Download this file.http://www.megaupload.com/?d=S7LXZ786 It shows the fees for 2+1 University of Reading LLB for the first 2 years in Taylor's and also there's an estimate for the living cost and the tuition fee for the third year in the University of Reading there. For living cost during your studies in Taylor's it could differ greatly depending on your lifestyle, where you live etc. I'm not very good at estimating this hum excluding rent (that depends on what you want to rent) you could probably get by with RM500 - RM700 per month to get proper meals 3 times a day. You could make it a lot lesser by cooking yourself, eating bread, crackers and maggie more lol ^^" |

If you haven't taken the picture for your student ID then bring your receipt that you got when you payed your fees ( if you didn't bring it, it's ok as well, as long as you remember your student ID) or probably just bring it in case you want to use some of the facilities and the people there ask. Maybe bring a pen and a notebook to write down some stuff that you think might be important. You can wear anything you like to orientation as long as it doesn't go against Taylor's dress code (as long as not too sexy can already lol ^^" ) and wear some shoes though first day they won't be too strict I guess ahaha( and also unless you get very strict lecturers can wear all the time except during presentations and exams). The Taylor's tshirt doesn't really serve any purpose except maybe when you participate for certain events or stuff like that. My shirt would look brand new if I don't go work so much or wear it casually now and then ahaha. My sister's look brand new even though it's a year old I can count with the fingers on one hand the number of times she wore it ^^" |

To me overall yeah they are good. So you're going for Foundation and then QS. Taylor's University's Bachelor of Quantity Surveying programme meets the requirements and benchmark established by professional bodies and the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia, in consultation with the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). The programme has also been accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Yes the scholarship minus a bit off from your tuition fees. For accodamadations you can rent one of the rooms on-campus (it's expensive ^^") or other Taylor's owned accommodation outside or find places to rent in the areas near Taylor's |
