The entry price will be right around 1500$ for the top of the line model with all the bells and whistles. Bestbuys version with lower specs and all the goodies taken out will start at 1100$. It may be possible that asus will offer an option for widi (wireless hdmi) model g53jw. We will have more information in august. This will launch for sale in september 2010

There are tons of reviews (all glowing) for the mighty Republic of Gamers G73 laptop around the web, but we’ve been foolishly lax in keeping you up to date with news about its younger sibling, the G53.

Announced back in April and scheduled to appear this year, the G53 is an almost identical clone of the 17inch G73, but in a slightly smaller 15 form factor. It has the same matte black rubberised design as the G73 with the same angular styling that’s caught so many reviewers eyes, and similar attention to detail with an excellent keyboard and mousepad.

Inside this imposing yet more portable powerhouse there’s a choice of dual or quad core CPUs, and high power NVIDIA GeForce GTS350M graphics. That’s a pair of processors which will make games fly.

Rumour has it that there’s a slight delay in production due to the difficulty in getting hold of suitable screens. If true, that would make sense, because the G53 is slated to come with a high definition monitor that’s capable of the 120Hz switching required by NVIDIA’s 3D vision technology.

We’ve seen laptops with 3D screens before, but this is likely to be the best yet. 3D vision relies on LCD glasses that rapidly alternate between allowing light into the left and right eyes. They’re synched with a high speed monitor which switched the display between the correct image for the correct eye when that lens is open.

Most current 3D laptops only use half the screen for each eye. Because the G53’s 3D images are full resolution, they’ll be sharper and more realistic that you’ve seen before.

To match its visual prowess, the G53 also comes with X-Fi audio and EAX 4.0.

It’s going to be a truly remarkable machine for games, and as the G73 is now available for the reasonable price of £1700, could be quite the bargain too.

Hi guys, a quick question, why aren't you guys getting it from Mucro Asia ? it's only 5.6 k + for g73jh A1 including shipping ? Or am I missing something here? I even saw a guy selling for RM 6800 in another thread for the A2 model !?

It's confirmed a vBios issue. The crappy RAM module is causing timing issues hence the reason why we are getting GSOD. If the clevo vBios resolves the issue that just show with a little tweaking of the timing/clocks/voltages we can get a stable 5870 GPU. The problem is ATI issued out a notice to all notebook manufacturers and ASUS was the last to heed the warning. They thought they could ignore the warning and it wouldn't happen to their flagship model. They thought wrong

better sound/bass thus meaning it's good for music too

cause most of the gaming headset haf very clear clarity wid low bass which is dam good for fps..but i prefer it to haf strong bass + clarity too..best of both world i guess
