I've never heard of any laptop with optical output so far.
Only heard of Sager laptop with HDMI in capable instead of HDMI out. |

QUOTE(Viperion @ Jul 6 2010, 12:05 AM) The stock Atheros card has bad wireless range and limited to 150Mbps wireless transfers rate. I will be carrying this notebook around so might need to use some WiFi spots sometimes. I want to make sure my unit have decent wireless capability. Anyway the upgrade is not too expensive, around RM 70 - 80 Stock is ahteros? I didn't know that. I have Intel 3945ABG and 4965AGN spare lol. |

I'm suspecting G73Jw will be getting Nvidia Gtx480m installed. Since AVADirect’s W880CU has got it installed and running like a mad portable desktop replacement.

My current Asus does label S/PDIF with the 3.5mm audio out.
It requires a special converter according to this forum. |

QUOTE(Viperion @ Jul 7 2010, 08:14 PM) Well if you mean the internal audio cards handles SPDIF signals then I need to check but I bet it can. However there are no standard SPDIF ports in this unit. Trust me, the information provided in this model is abysmal. I can find more information in this thread than all the instruction, warranty, etc. manuals they provided Here's the screen shot of the support of spdif capable in my current asus z99jr.Added on July 7, 2010, 8:16 pm Thanks for the translation, I'm a yellow banana, LOL! Can speak but cannot read and write Picture says it all. |

QUOTE(Viperion @ Jul 8 2010, 08:16 PM) Use your imagination, LOL! Sadly it the ZBD doesn't cover anywhere else outside US & California.Update: I've removed most all of the bloatware and thus far this machine works wonderfully. I regretted doing the LCD test as I found one dead pixel (Micro Dot Dark Spot). Thank god it's near the bottom left and I never noticed it until I did the test, LOL! Now I'm aware of it I see the spot all the time |

QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Jul 14 2010, 01:17 AM) Anyway, i just notice that some ppl are stating there's probability G53 will be slightly cheaper compare to G73JH. But there's not confirmed source regarding the pricing nor the actual spec. |

QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Jul 14 2010, 01:42 AM) I heard that the G53 will be equipped with GTX460 if I'm not mistaken. The advantage of using this GPU is less heat emission than 5870. In terms of pricing, I have no idea. So you have any link regarding on this? I only saw somebody's comment in youtube about g53 pricing around 1250 euro$. But i'm not sure if i could trust them. August is next month so... we'll might as well wait for the surprise from Asus.Check Asus Taiwan has no update on it yet. |

QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Jul 14 2010, 02:06 AM) OIC. However, the price of N73JQ is quoted around 1355 USD. So, is it possible that G53 will be cheaper than that? Nevermind, i pretty sure the Entire G53 will be very expensive if Asus Include the 3d vision glass. U can refer to how much G51-3D in gentechpc and compare with g73 already. |

My method of payment will be most likely credit card or ask relative buy in states and bring it back. Wire transfer sounds troublesome to me.
