it wont boost ur batt, unless u get extra batt... Lol....

for A550(and A300series), seriously, i find it a little overrate and pricey for the ori grip for 1 dail and 2 button, and a shutter release... just buy the 3rd party ones if u think u prefer to hold it portrait orientation. i myself felt comfy without it thou tongue.gif
*
ops .... actually what I wanna say in the term of 'battery booster' was the ability to put an extra battery for enlarge the battery capacity haha looks like I misleading >.<

And is right that A300 and A500(A450 included) series battery grip for original just give the extra grip feel and tougher built compare to the 3rd party .... which I found it wasn't a big deal for having the original unless .. you really often for vertical shooting and prefer better ergonomics ....

(err dunno how explain very clearly)
that was Photoshop Action File if not mistaken ... which means that they recording the adjustment and then save it as an external record file, user can download the file and direct apply the adjustment on to their picture directly

wingster..i feel should increase the DOF... the OOf region a bit distracting la

plus ur choice of background prolly could be improved no..since this shot is completely under ur control...how come got speaker thingy there.. hahaha :_
*
yeah you're right should increase the DOF ....

the background actually I just put beside my monitor (wanted to try the style where the monitor lights falls on the gundam there) >.< so you can see there's a speaker there XD

if u don mind..i'll comment a lil bit more...other than your subject..try to look around the frame..not only object..what about shadows?placing/avoiding shadows should be take note also..and since your model is black..try not keep the background too dark too..unless u able to light it up nicely while keep the low key background dark.

maybe could do something on the..whats that call ah??the transparent support thingy..
*
hmm well thanks for the comment ... will try to work out ...

the previous shot I do is the white wall background >.< so that I use 2 different exposure and then cover it the white background into dark ... and yeah the background need to adjust but I still not so sure about the shadow?

wingster : Did you use flash? I noticed that the first pic seemed a little OOF.

Also, try to watch your WB. Pics seem a little too warm for my taste.

The second pic, I would have shot it from another angle. Maybe I would stand beside the huge spotlight and shot it from there. The first thing that caught my eye was the spotlight in the pic meaning it was kinda of a big distraction. Also having such a big bright spot in your frame is bound to cause your metering to go haywire.

I also am kinda vague on what you are trying to show in the third pic. The bulletin board? I can't seem to read any of them from this view. The 2 persons on the left? They seem to be engaged in a conversation and one of them has his back towards the cam. The hand jutting out from outside the frame with the paper bag is a real distraction. Your selective coloring has emphasized this distraction even more.

The fourth pic could have used a fill flash fired directly.

Just my 2 cents though.

... yeah too warm actually even my camera settings WB sets until 2500k =_=

#2 because the stage has 2 video camera and 1 photographer so I was limited in certain lane for shooting

#3 just highlights the company logo colors hence their logo was in red, so I try to highlight with colors on red.

thanks for your critique, I need to learn more about metering and flash technique ....

im planning (and hoping) to upgrade my camera next month, i need some help deciding. should i get the a550 or a second hand a700?

because i have read quite a few bad reviews about the a550.

or should i scoff-off upgrading my camera and get gears instead?
*
A550 was almost the same as A3xx's in terms of functionally UI and customization:

-A5xx series take advantages of adding high continuous shooting in both OVF nor LV and HDR and low light shooting, likewise it was added MFLV Check more technical or macro shoots =)

-A5xx series take disadvantages as it doesn't have much customization as A700 rival(no direct UI control, shift dial and DOF preview), cheap built and relatively smaller VF size than A700 (if not mistaken =/)

and yeah ... hence I heard A100 was a good camera I think is much worth for upgrading lens than the body XD or wait for new Alpha HD series DSLR >.<
