Hi, guys. I'm using POHD Mini, firmware v7.0.21_r2956.
I have several movies in which the voice volume is too soft (while background/effect is very loud).

this is the info of the audio stream
CODE
ID                               : 3
Format                           : AC-3
Format/Info                      : Audio Coding 3
Codec ID                         : A_AC3
Duration                         : 1h 50mn
Bit rate mode                    : Constant
Bit rate                         : 384 Kbps
Channel(s)                       : 6 channels
Channel positions                : Front: L C R, Surround: L R, LFE
Sampling rate                    : 48.0 KHz
Stream size                      : 303 MiB (12%)

I'm only using my TV's speaker (no other speaker).
Please kindly advice how i can increase the volume of the voice OR possible
to play the 6ch as 2ch (stereo).
Is there such setting in the POHD setup? (I have checked, and doesn't seem so)

thanks notworthy.gif

greetings...
new owner of  POHD here

i know spoon fed is literally the correct term for what i am bout to ask but been clicking the tutorials and did google it (and i still dont understand what samba is or yamj)and but what those plugins for? and since it support bt downloads was wondering if does support direct download (rs /mu) ?
any links or just a tone down version explanation is really and greatly appreciated

btw anyone using belkin wifi adapter on it read somewhere it only could work on certain chipset... even xtreamer's.

thanks..

To make it short, Samba is the network file protocol that allows you to read files from a Windows PC via network.
And YAMJ (Yet Another Movie Jukebox) allows you to browse movies on the POHD by their covers/arts rather than file names.
Yes, I'm waiting eagerly for this for POHD mini! rclxm9.gif
It makes POHD so much more fun to have. rclxm9.gif icon_rolleyes.gif thumbup.gif

It should be based on the realtek 1283 chipset, if not mistaken.

Hi guys.
I need to get a 5.1ch home theater to go along with my POHD mini.
Main reason is those MKVs I have are mostly 6ch audio. So, most of the time, the dialogue/voice volume via the TV's speaker is very soft.
But, assuming that i get a basic 5.1ch DVD home theater (no optical in), connect its Audio IN to he POHD mini's RCA Audio out, will i get 5.1ch result?
Or, i must go for home theater that c/w optical in (which is not so preferrable since they are more expensive).

Please kindly advice.

thank you notworthy.gif

Hmm...for me i prefer transfer via USB, much faster. I use USB extension cable, so i can keep the POHD in the TV cabinet, while the USB connector on top of the cabinet, so it's very easy to plug in/out. Yes, no power drop problem over the USB extension cable.

As for Samba, haven't try it before, but i believe you just have to share your movie folder on your PC, and the POHD will be able to 'see' it on the network neighbourhood.

Download the manual book first...

Panasonic HT has a nasty design that optical only works with Dolby...no DTS through Optical...DTS works only with the built in DVD...many ppl kena oledi...you have been warned!!!
Some ppl even complain .srt files dun work with it.

I hope you didn't buy it yet  ohmy.gif

The cheapest I know off for you to experience basic DD/DTS is Samsung HT.

The best is you bringing along your Media player to the shop to try it out.

If you are willing to gamble, there are lots of 2nd amps that come with great speakers going for a song....

Phew, i was so close to buying it yesterday, until i tested some music. the quality and bass performance is totally unacceptable to me. Will look for something else now.

Grr...Just received my Toslink cable and excitedly testing the Optical Out from my POHD mini to my Home Theatre which supports Digital Input (Toslink.
On the POHD mini, I've been using HDMI output all the while, so i noticed there's no sound via the Home Theatre.
So i switched POHD mini Digital output to SPDIF. Hurray, there's sound...but problem is there's no sound via the HDMI link now! Meaning, there's no sound from the TV!

How am i gonna solve this problem?
Can't the POHD Mini supports HDMI + SPDIF at the same time?

Please advice.
