Try changing the properties of your folder to make it a "Pictures and Videos". Right click on the folder and select properties. There should be an option in one of the tabs for selecting the type of folder in there somewhere.
*
Tried, still the same.
I've managed to get it to work, but with a big compromise on quality.
I moved one of my .mkvs to the sample video folder and renamed the extension to .wmv
The PQ was like crap, and when I pressed the info button it says "720x480 mpeg2". The file is actually 1280x720. (on my pc)
I guess Win7 somehow downconverts the video?

I'm using Win7 Ultimate x64, connected to a wireless G router. PlayON connects using ethernet.
Oh and I cannot see my pc using 'Network' option, only 'UPnP'.

Hey people, I just got my A.C Ryan PlayOn HD Mini 2 days ago and already suffered some problems and issues.

Some of my videos( all is usually anime 1080p movies) has the tendency to auto stop. Has anyone encounter a problem like this? By the way, my firmware version is v7.06.r2956.

Help is really appreciated because I took a long time to decide to purchase A.C Ryan over WD TV. =)
*
Nope, haven't experienced this problem. Have you tred playing them via another hard disk or a high speed thumbdrive?

Yup.
Our SRP is RM599.00. Singapore selling at SD249.00. Promotion is SD229.00. Now, without promotion, our price even better than Singapore. That is making AC Ryan Asia Pacific nervous and  warn us tongue.gif . Our resellers you can find from our website: http://www.boxbuilder.com.my/PV73100.asp#buy.
For the mede8er, sorry for more than a month no stock in the market due to CNY holiday. The stock will be arrived end of March.
Cheers.

I don't face this problem, have tried with Avatar and UP (untouched blu-ray, BDMV).

I didn't rip the file at all, I just copied and pasted the whole bluray disc inside my hard disk, untuoched anything, when try to play, the "Bitstream Error" pop out and the tv screen stay black until I press the remote "return" button. Btw, the movie I tried was "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince".
*
Perhaps it's the copy protection?
I remember doing a straightforward copy and paste thing on an original Godfather disc, and all the files are corrupted. When I used SlySoft AnyDVD HD to rip it however, the files played as it should.

Update
---------
1) I was wrong about not to expect Menus for BDMV/ISO. There is a Menu (very, very simple one) when the 'Menu' button on the remote is pressed. You can select Audio, Subtitles, Title, Chapter. Don't expect anythinng fancy though  biggrin.gif
*
This is available on the YAMJ beta firmware.

Can i play blue ray disc direct from the rom drive?

Just rechecked the previous pages. According to BoxBuilder (the official distributor here), it can only play blu-ray discs without DRM. In other words you can't play those retail ones...

I already read that part.. does it means I must install all the things in PC first? cannot just install firmware with YAMJ, coz I dont link my POHD
with my PC, if so complicated I think I dont want to use YAMJ.. shakehead.gif
*
Don't have to link also can. Just plug your movies hdd to your pc, when the yamj indexing is done connect it to your pohd.

Doesn't it able to play blu-ray source since last few months? The blu-ray you still have to rip it first before you can watch it on POHD due to BD protection. One thing for sure, no Dolby Thru HD and DTS HD MA/HR, this is the only down side for a proper HD Media Player.
*
Note the word 'flawlessly'.
Previously when you try to play a BDMV folder you'd have to manually select the M2TS files, and you can't change chapters.
Not the case anymore. biggrin.gif
