I even remembered the very first bypass for the PS2 was to make pirated CDs of PS2 games and a switch plugged into the USB port lol.

Hey peeps! Just wanted to know if it's possible to change the DS3 controller batteries? Been having mine for 3yrs and I noticed that it drains fast nowadays. Any shops provide the service? Thanks in advance (:
*
You might need to go back to Sony to replace the battery. It is user removable and they teach you how to remove it in the PS3's manual, however the battery isn't some normal AA or AAA battery you find in Hypermarkets or something. And please don't trust third party batteries. You might not know what will happen the next thing you turn on the controller.

They do not replace old batteries.

They teach you how to remove batteries so you can remove them before throwing the controller as you shouldn't throw batteries with your regular trash.
*
Is this official? Probably someone can e-mail Sony themselves and confirm whether do they offer battery replacements for a fee or something.

EDIT:
QUOTE
I just got word back from SCEA.

Sony's official stance is that after twelve months it's out of warranty and Sony therefore offers absolutely no support.

Their official answer is to purchase another controller, or use a USB cable. The person I was in contact with apologised and mentioned that his friend had managed to replace the battery on his own though.

Well I guess we know the answer now!

I wonder izzit posible to plug into extension usb cable to play?
My fren damn lazy mad.gif  he wan to play while on his bed but the cord seem like not long enuff laugh.gif
*
A longer USB cord will work as well. There's a Sony branded USB cable for the DS3 controllers sold separately and they are longer than the ones supplied with the consoles.

There r some game with "Install" option. What does this install into the PS3? I can play the game even without installing. I dont want to waste time installing and then waste time again uninstall it if it aint provide anything to the gameplay. Pls advice.
*
It's to reduce loading times. Some games have mandatory install, some have optional and some have none.

I'm curious to know if games for R1, R2 and R3 will be logged on to different servers based on the disc region. Let's say I buy SSFIV for R1, will I be logged on to servers in the US and not Asia?
*
Its game-dependent. LBP is on Global Servers regardless of region. Same goes with SSFIV according to Luke in his thread.

okay thanks alot storm maker.

btw brand wise, would it be much of a difference?
*
Brand doesn't really matter. The most important to take into consideration would be the dimensions and also the RPM spindle speed.

Normally the drive will connect to the connector straight, but since the 3.5" HDD cannot fit in the HDD bay, you need the SATA tape I was talking about to attach the connector to the HDD.

In a way, you have an external internal drive  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
I think you're referring to an adapter instead. S-ATA tape could mean S-ATA tape drives.

Anyway I would highly suggest DWExia just get himself a 2.5" Hard Disk instead. It's much more practical IMO since he's already having a headache trying to find out which brand of HDD to get already.

To everyone else, if you're interested in making a 3.5" adapter for yourself, here's a method.

Already updated. No problems with my console. It's a mandatory update. You'll need to update before you can go online or else it's offline for you.

Don't need to worry about the other dimensions. Only the height. 9.5mm fits into the drive bay.

hey hey

wanna ask
the hdmi cable got In and Out ???

the In connect to lcd tv or In connect to ps3?
hmmm

i read sony bravia manual.. it says hdmi cable IN will go to tv
while OUT cable will go to blu ray player <--- ps3 oso same ? tongue.gif
*
PS3 outputs video and audio signals through the HDMI port thus it's OUT. The TV accepts the signals, thus it's IN.

did anyone having trouble using the facebook trophy update feature in PS3?

i enter the correct username and password of my facebook account to PS3 but it did not update the trophy i get to my facebook account, before that it can, but now cannot already

just now i sign in my facebook, it say there is someone who are trying to access my account from unfamiliar location, it say is from US, so i assume is PSN that are trying to sign in and update but reject by facebook?

anyone got similar problem?
*
Trophies will only be posted on your wall at the time you earned them. It is not retrospective.

If you earned it at that time and it couldn't be posted to your wall then it could be due to Facebook's updated privacy securities.

how bout dlc? Im not talking about game data.

haha my rb2 dlc around 2gb already. Plus my other psn games X.X
*
Yeah as for DLCs I think it's better if you redownload them. For Game Data just re-install them if you don't have the space for it. Just transfer the basic necessities.
