Hehe.. If WORKS brand it cost rm396. AFR+ Meter+ Adapter (rm380), Vacuum hose (rm10)+ Fuel hose(rm6)... If u go EA, they have promotion, free installation (maybe free hose)...
It very good mod to have as it noticeable... And give more power... (Racun sampai mati nih...)
I would rated it as the 2nd best upgrade after exhaust.
My friend tried on another friends City 1-vtec.. O-60MPH the pick up is really awesome and may be better than our CPS. But after that our CPS can sapu it already. The RPM is also 7.2 maximum using the pedal shift...Damn...Kena mod my car in future to sapu city..!!! wahahaha...
mp/h or km/h?
I personally think City got the advantage because the i-vtec opens as soon as it detect sudden acceleration (pedal to the metal) while CPS need to be revved until certain rpm (like old vtec).
ya... 1.5 i-Vtec is almost similar to our CPS 1.6 output if i'm not mistaken... 120HP vs 125HP...
looks significant, but compare the power to weight ratio (stock, without mod), dang... Gen2 CPS is alredy a definite lose... even Neo CPS isn't any lighter than Gen2 right???
The injector is the one that control amount of fuel use, higher pressure just to make sure the fuel is there when it needed (sudden acceleration). Same with high-flow air filter.
hey guys, for those who installed FPR, mind shed some light on which brand and what to look for when getting it? I've read that when installing this, best to change the fuel rail also, what else? thanks
Mine still standard fuel rail. As long as you don't put the pressure too high (I kept between up to 10% limit), there should be no problem.
it is a normal for drive by wire car have throttle lag. its not about high or low end electronic(due to emission cntrl, test driven mazda 3,it is the same thing). but it can be minimize by upgrading the ecu so that any input will deliver faster info from accelerator sensor to the ecu. and thats why pivot n other company make a product for setting the electronic throttle such as pivot e-throttle. yeah,it can be minimised by changing to iridium spark plug, decat or lighten cam pulley, but the best effect is to change the ecu to 32bits one as in persona elegance. just wait n try to ask proton whether they are provide any upgrade of ecu's for cps engine. try to drive the persona elegance, u feel it is better in the low end n less throttle lag compare to cps
Even if they provide ECU upgrade service, I doubt it will be cheap. Better go for standalone ECU.
All electronics system will have 'some' lags compared to mechanical linkage. In DBW system, for the sensor to 'sense' and produce the voltage output requires time, and that signal then to travel to the ECU, ECU will calculate the appropriate TB opening, send out signal for the TB, and only then TB open. Apart from that, DBW offers a lot more advantage such as more tuning option (especially for Emission control and speed cut for reliability) and can operates in several modes with just a flick of a switch (sport mode, economy mode etc).

Once drive by wire, u will have throttle lag .. right?
Yeah.
