QUOTE(mat79 @ Mar 25 2010, 01:49 PM) yup Changing short shifter can void the warranty ? by the way, got some info from insider mentioning that ems 700 16bits is load based, meanwhile easyu 32bits is torque based. in theory, the latter will give better response n gear change especially for the auto tranny Added on March 25, 2010, 1:51 pm why dun u try cntact powerzone or other modded garage whether they provide short shifter for proton. Pls advise.. Thanks. |

QUOTE(sphiroth @ Mar 25 2010, 02:04 PM) Of course, because my mod not just replace the gear lever with shorter one, but require cutting and welding a 'part' (look like hinges) in the GB. bro,p/s: even the SC mech also interested to do it on his car because the feels is really nice, but can only be done at shah alam. have any photo to show? want to benchmark .. |

QUOTE(NightShadow @ Mar 27 2010, 05:11 PM) haha sounds awesome. i hope i won't regret getting this car. Facelift for Gen2 campro = Gen 2 CPS.strangely, owners of gen2 gen1 (wow that's confusing) keep warning me not to get it haha. but their complaints were mostly build quality, like door handles coming off, seats getting stained from rain water among others. Actually is worth to get as they really improve and solve a lot of problem. My FC now is around 0.13~0.14 cent in 70% highway + 30 % jamming in traffic. |

QUOTE(ahpaul82 @ Mar 28 2010, 01:33 AM) Welcome. Normally Brigdeston tyre is with hard rubber and most of the model only gain with A grade traction.i did post up my few problems over here, Feel free to check it up, maybe useful for you in future. Good FC, i only can dream about it ... that is my first tires after got my car from 2nd hand dealer, stock tires only used 3days... so far i quite satisfied on it, has been clocked 15xxxkm in 6months time. wet condition, sorry i don't run fast in wet/raining condition, because if you out of luck, what tires also useless, No second chance in this life. don't put so high expectation on wet condition, and yes, it will pull a side if the puddle is deep enough, make sure both hand hold your steering and release your accelerator . dry condition is excellent. sidewall very stiff. For pricing, you can check HERE Recently hot tires you can consider about Michelin Pilot Sport 3. read through Tire Disccusion Thread and they said RE001 performance so-so only... I using ZE 912, actually Falken tyre is from Sumitomo Added on March 28, 2010, 9:06 am QUOTE(pearjar @ Mar 27 2010, 07:57 PM) Lol.... U no need to have 4x4, just pay the money then ppl will use his 4x4 to carry u up. Me not calculate fc.. Just rev2 from home to work only.. Just enjoy ur holiday over there. QUOTE(ahpaul82 @ Mar 28 2010, 11:46 AM) Sharing Sharing mah Shoulder wear is because of most of the time turn the steering without moving the car.since you more emphasize on wet performance, then you should consider Michelin tires. RE001 - Traction A Grade. PP2/PS3 - Traction AA Grade. btw, how you mention your RIM weight ?? yeah, my sister car is using Falken ZE-912 too. just beware the shoulder wear ... The right to turn the steering should slightly moving then turning. |

For new car, servicing is at 1k km, 5k km & 10k km.
I plan to go with semi syc for 1st and 2nd servicing ( dun want to waste the engine oil ) After 10k km, go for fully syc engine oil, so that can service the car with every 10k km. This post has been edited by boyzone: Mar 28 2010, 06:15 PM |

QUOTE(mrl @ Mar 29 2010, 12:28 AM) if u want the best handling, go for Neo... heard it is better than Gen2 and it suppose to be better than Gen2... I drove Peugeot 406 before.how exactly is it better... like what i said before... imagine going into a junction at 80km/h++... if you compare it against Mercedes, BMW, Audi, definitely this Gen2 is quite bad... if you compare it against Myvi, Gen2 CPS is definitely a winner... turning radius is a nightmare to all Proton's owner with Lotus Ride and Handling... very big... but with correct technique, i've managed to do most uturn (illegally and legally)... but u need to get used to the car's handling to do that... and, one thing I dont understand... u're comparing turning radius of a car against an MPV??? being sarcastic or what??? Just imaging that I can accepted Gen2 CPS after conti car |

Proton to initially produce 25 units of Satria Neo R3 Lotus racing edition
2010/03/30 KUALA LUMPUR: Proton Holdings Bhd will initially produce 25 units of its newly-launched Proton Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing Edition. Its managing director Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir said the national carmaker had so far received 11 bookings for the model. "This car was specially designed to commemorate the Lotus Formula One racing team. We intend to do it in limited edition," he told reporters after the model was launched by Proton''s adviser Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad here today. "Initially we will produce 25 units in line with our 25-year anniversary celebrations," he said. Syed Zainal Abidin said Proton would increase the volume of the Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing edition if the model received good response. The company, he said, also planned to exports the model to Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Australia. Inspired by the spirit of Lotus Racing, the car is powered by Proton's race-proven 1.6-litre CamPro CPS engine, and re-tuned by R3 for more power and torque utilising its Engine Management System, performance camshafts, carbon fibre air-intake and titanium exhaust headers. The Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing Edition is currently available at RM115,000. R3, which stands for "Race, Rally and Research, is Proton's motorsport division specialising in the research, development and production of race cars and performance parts. -- BERNAMA http://www.nst.com.my/Current_News/NST/art...icle/index_html Added on March 30, 2010, 9:44 pmMore details : Proton Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing – 145hp! Proton today launched a very special version of their Neo CPS – the Proton Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing. Priced at RM115,000 it has various equipment upgrades including an engine tune-up. Now producing 145 bhp and 168 Nm of torque, the R3 engine is a substantial 25 bhp and 18 Nm up on the standard CPS motor. 0-100 km/h is now done in 9.2 seconds and top speed is 200 km/h, compared to 10.5 seconds and 190 km/h for the standard Neo CPS manual. RM115,000 is a lot of money to pay for a Satria Neo, but this doubled price tag over the standard Neo CPS comes with much more than just a carbon fibre bonnet and Lotus Racing emblems. There’s some serious performance upgrades that should make it quite a hoot to drive, and these improvements are not just reflected in the vital stats. More vital than these improved figures however are things like revised ratios for the five-speed gearbox. According to a source in R3, the Neo R3 Lotus Edition will rev till its 7500 rpm redline in EVERY gear, and all sorts of torque curve issues have been been banished. We look forward to a test drive to confirm this exciting revelation. When the head of the R3 department is one of the best drifters in the world, you can be sure that the division’s products are not just about power and acceleration. Handling is a big part of the equation, and bearing the “Lotus Racing” name means that this car has to deliver some thrills behind the wheel. There’s some delicious sounding hardware in this car. First up are the Öhlins DFV (Dual Flow Valve) fully adjustable coil-over suspension with spring and damper rates specifically tuned for this application by R3. The Neo also gets stiffened rubber bushes and revised suspension geometry. All these are claimed to deliver “racecar-like direct steering input and cornering precision”. The saved weight from the carbon hood also means that there’s less weight over the front axle, which is good news. This car is 62 kg lighter than the standard Neo CPS at 1150 kg. If you peek behind the 16-inch Advanti alloys wrapped with 205/45 Bridgestone Adrenalin rubber, you’ll spot the four-pot AP Racing calipers gripping the front discs. The rear discs make do with single pot items. Other than the engine tune-up, you also get R3 Titanium Exhaust Headers, R3 Alloy Underdrive Pulleys, an R3 Tuned Exhaust System, and an R3 Carbon Fiber Airbox. These equipment including R3-tuned camshaft profiles contribute towards the power upgrade. R3 has plans to make 25 units of the Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing Edition. Our sources say that 11 units are already accounted for, and we reckon that Proton will have no problems selling off the remaining units. They will of course come up with a second batch if response and demand is sufficient. There’s a whole load of more material after the jump including loads of hi-res product photos, track action photos and live photos from the car’s unveiling in Pavilion today. http://www.globalpost.com/webblog/wheels/p...acing-–-145hp This post has been edited by boyzone: Mar 30 2010, 10:07 PM |
