No way. He isn't any better than any of our current strikers and has a relatively mediocre scoring record for Spurs, although his limited apperances do play a role here. Why would we pick him over Nik?

According to Steve MacMahon (ugh) on ESPN, sometimes the captain's job is more on organising stuff off the pitch. Things like their registration forms, PFA voting, organising social activities etc. Also he acts as the middle man between the squad and the management.

His reasoning is that on the pitch, the true leaders will all step up, regardless of who is wearing the armband. Adams used to wear the armband, but Keown, Bouldy and Parlour were just as vocal. And people like Vieira and Petit could take the game by the scruff of the neck.

The thing is... Do we have leaders in our team now? Just looking at our team sheet, Fabregas is the best we have on the basis of his talent. Vermaelen is one to lookout for with his no-nonsense approach but other than that, I think we're pretty stretched in this department.

If you're good enough you get to play....if not then too bad. Life is not suppose to be fair. Nationality has no meaning in club football. English or no English, as long as they are good.
Do Wenger just stop buying younger players altogether now? Or just stop anyone from the age of 16 - 20 joining the club now, cos those <16 will be ready when the current ones hit 30 years old.


So what if we lose to bigger teams? That does not define the season. Both Chelsea and United have dropped more points to smaller teams this season than Arsenal have. At the end of the day, I rather win the league than be contend by beating Chelsea or United. I've said it all along, there are 20 teams in the league. Taking away the top 4, there's maximum 96 points left on the table. Tell me that's not good enough to win any season. A league winning run is based on consistency to maintain a high level of performance week in week out. Sure, the loss to the top 2 hurts but it's those draws and losses against smaller teams that have hurt us the most in the past.

side topic. Can anyone tell me what's the best website with the most complete match statistics? Like those in Championship Manager or Football Manager (i.e. complete pass, headers won, tackles won)?

Thus, Arsenal and ManU will be cut 6 points gain against Portsmouth while Chelsea only 4 

so, does it mean that the points deduction only applies to portsmouth alone?
