Just wondering. By smoking the headlamps, will it reduce visibility of lighting on the road?
*
ya. but not much. still ok becos only smoke the reflector, not the cover. replace stock bulb with something better like philips xtreme power or osram nightbreaker

Just noticed that mud guard and below chasis area is paint with 'black wet paint' and feel sticky if u touch it. Is it normal? Do they do it purposely?

QUOTE(moody @ Mar 23 2010, 02:07 PM)
I do not know if this has been raised before, does anyone know why there is differences in the Services stated in the Service Booklet and Proton Center Service Manual. E.g - 1. ATF. Service booklet says every 40,000km, Proton Service center says every 20,000km. 2. Spark plug - Service Booklet State every 20,000km, Service center says every 10,000km.

The Service booklet state service every 10,000km, service center says must service every 5,000km.

Which one do we follow, if I insist to follow the Service booklet will the warranty become void.  I think this is kind of cheating, sell car, give you a service booklet stating what to service than when you go to service center, the service manual states differently. If there are changes to the service booklet than they must inform the owner of the changes. I may not buy a car if I know I need to change the ATF every 20,000kn while almost all other brand at 40,000km. Maintenance cost maybe one of the factor we may look into when buying cars.
*
dont always follow what service centres say...they would 'recommend' you things to service but always refer to service manual.

you can always refuse what they recomenend based on facts stated by manual book..

i can say service centre will give you best recomendation...but the manual book gives you OK service interval..but still on the safe side

i myself service every 10k km..and the sc never mention this will void warranty

Added on March 24, 2010, 8:40 pmmoody, my sc follow the service booklet. (eon)

but i told them to change my atf during 20k service..

at 40k maybe the atf at its maximum life already...so i think exceeding 40k i dun think its safe for your gearbox..

billy520, i think 5-8k or more..depends apa brand and shop..

i think supercharge lower maintainance than bot...but not much difference...they are forced induction...putting more stress to engine more heat...i guess will cause more maintainace than normal

that means supercharger will not have any side effect ar?cos it's more like NA right?cos i do understand that turbo will have high maintenance but if supercharger is the difference and will not have as much maintenance as turbocharged, i don mind giving up the sneezing sound of turbo... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

anyone done 40 k service? that is major service how much ah?
*
ive just done it, mine auto transmission car

engine oil - shell helix 10w40 - rm99
brake oil - rm30 (estimate)
spark plug - rm40 (estimate)
automatic transmission fluid 4L - 130 (estimate)
labour charge - rm70 (discounted)
air filter - skipped cos i have reusable aftermarket air filter

i estimate cos i dun have the receipt now..but total rm349
for manual should be alot cheaper cos cheaper gear oil compare to auto transmission fluid

after brake fluid service, i feels the pedal snappier...and improved braking distance too
