Peebee, she look so innocent... But I do hv same thought with yueyi that it is stained wen look at the pic.. Lol.. But whether it's cinnamon or doraemon, it's still ur lovely baby..

Everyone loves leucistic, but too bad it migh cost u 10k if u wan to import into Malaysia.. Nobody wan to pay tat money.. And it is very stressful for the glider during d flight or quarantine period..

OMG ohmy.gif  really? 10K is sooo expensive!  But i dont think i'd ever wanna import a glider, I bought a fighting fish last month, and when i got it... it looked strange, like discoloured and feeling funny  hmm.gif
I wonder why Malaysia doesn't have the leucistic colour? so rare & very unique smile.gif
Mimi is very innocent hehe! she's never ever biten, she's very gentle and loving  wub.gif  The staining.. could be true i dunno, but if it is really staining, the person that i bought it from didnt keep her well unsure.gif sighs...
*
Leucistic and other colors such as mosaic are all mutation of gene. It is possible for a pair of standard grey glider to give birth leucistic or albino color... but the percentage is very very very very (x1000) LOW...

Leucistic is unique and rare because u hardly see one here... if all of us own leucistic but not standard grey, then it will become vry common d.. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(babyvey @ Mar 6 2010, 11:58 PM)
here's a recent pic of xiao gui! xD
btw, eric, can you change my glider's name from bear to xiao gui? and take king off, cos i sold him to a friend. partially cos he just wasn't bonding to me but mostly cos he bullies his cagemates AND my friend wanted him.. whistling.gif

anyway, enjoy! she was running around on my desk as i was doing my assignments and when she snuggled between my stationary, it was just too cute to resist!

hi there, the recommended Wodent Wheel Senior was so expensive...if compare to those hamster wheel...
can i use the wheel for hamster?
*
QUOTE(nevermine @ Mar 7 2010, 12:06 AM)
thx for ur reply.it is 11" diameter...but it is reli expensive, rite?
does your SG play it recently?

im still gathering SG's info ^^
*
I have 5 wheels, each of my glider has their own one. And they play it EVERYNIGHT.

Exercise is extremely important for gliders, esp the young wan.. If they don exercise enough, they are more prone to hav bone development problem.

Expensive or not, it really depend. But i can definitely assure u it's WORTHY. For your glider's health and fun. biggrin.gif

For those who claimed that their sg are toilet trained are mostly inaccurate..glider normally pee n poo minute after wake up or when they are frighten.. Unless your glider can hold the pee n poo until you give a command.. But it's abut against their natural la..

@tednet, which part of the body wet? under eyes? If this is not cause of any accident like fall inside food bowl or etc, then could be a sign of illness as SCC said. Better monitor closely.. Is she eating well?

Small scale breeding like mayb 1 or 2 pairs is still ok if you are ready for that.. because u still able to spare your attention and more importantly money..

Otherwise, too much breeding gliders end up you will only feed them and downgrade their living condition such as using 1ft/2ft cage..no wheels and etc..

Of course the price is much cheaper if you buy it directly at US. If you ever try to import something from US, you should know the shipping fees are equal or sometime higher than the product itself.. biggrin.gif

I think if everyone contact supplier and order the stuff like you, then all petshop should close down d.. lol..

Btw, there are a lot heartless people.. some do it without feeling anything..but some do it secretly with a lot cover story..

i bought my sugar glider today and tried to bond with them. but they seems did not like me. keep on doing that angry sound.

feel so sad.. sad.gif
*
They are not sugar glider anymore if they can be bonded with owner within one day. For the first and second day, u should jus leave the glider inside the cage but not stressing them out by handling them. Give them some time to get use to the new environment first.

U used 'they', so i assume u bought it in pair? Handling a pair for newbie is even harder and takes time & effort to bond with them... I hope u r ready for it..

Some female gliders are able to reject and say NO when the male intended to mate.. However injuries may happen when the man is too rough or the female keep struggling.. Because wen they mate the male will grab the female back..

Since u said Rj is so eager to seek for Furla, u better wait until she is ready first before putting them together..

no prob at all, english better i do understand, i just need some time to reply it  okay i just mixed those fruits and vegetables right? yeah, the SG breeder in my area told me to feed her with high protein, high calc, low phos, and low magnesium...theres no hpw in my country *probably* but i have wheel and pouches. the SG breeder told me to give it repcal-calcium for reptile- with low ratio...or give her cricker laugh.gif yes, im serious, cricker is high calcium thumbup.gif

But cricket is so messy...i don really like it... biggrin.gif

Btw, welcome.

@Joe,

As what SCC said, don zip the glider in bonding pouch when they are active and awake during night time. U might distress her because she wanted to come out.

Jus put the cage beside u, cover the cage with ur wore shirt.. let her get used to ur existence..u can do ur hw or whatsoever u wan..don really nid to bother her..

Please make sure u got the correct diet and cage for the glider. And fyi, if ur cousin already chose the other glider which means u hav to keep them separately...Don put them together sometime then separate again, will distress them.

We normally bring them inside the bonding pouch during daytime, where gliders are sleeping during that time. So they wont be active and wanna climb out. Zip the bonding pouch if the glider is not familiar and bonded with you. Anything can happen and the glider can escape easily.

Better don bring the glider in bonding pouch at night. That is the time for them to roam freely inside the cage...not struggle in a small pouch.

Glider are vocalization animal, they use diff kind of sounds and voices to communicate their thoughts and emotion. Therefore, hissing/crabbing/barking/etc are extremely normal.

This is only the first few days u brought ur glider home.. and u hav 13-15years ahead to get along with the little creature.. Why so rush in making him accept u. Rushing in bonding process will only ruin everything. All u nid is more and more patience & more and more effort.

Btw, glider don 'fly'... they GLIDE.. that's y they are called Sugar Glider.

hedgehog are solitary animal..they prefer to be alone and not to disturb by people too frequent.

Glider are social animals and they need companionship and attention.

I keep both of them... so what i would say is glider needs longer time and effort to really bonded with the owner..but the attachment with owner is much closer than hedgehog.

It's different kind of living style for both of them..

You aren't not suppose to handle him during the first two days home.. Give hhim some time to get used to the new environment first, then only proceed to further bonding process.

Hissing definitely not trying to deliver 'happy' emotion. I rather think 'chattering' sound is indicating happiness and excitement.

Some glider will hiss a bit when they are pee/poo or when they jus woke up from sleep.. It's pretty normal. But it could be UTI if your glider hiss too frequent wwhen urinating.

Apart from the two situation I mentioned above, when your glider hiss, that means he/she is feeling annoyed and irritated.

can sugar glider stay in air-con room ? cz plan 2 fixed an air-con in my hostel...  sweat.gif

can... but make sure the cold air doesnt flow directly towards ur glider cage. If you afraid they may get too cold, then put fleece blanket inside the sleeping pouch..

But if it's pouch infection, then it should be swollen... can you try place ur finger tip near the pouch and see is it hardy?
