You're right lol, i havent seen them play with the bottle though.. for now. I hung it at that angle, cuz it keeps dripping water at a normal angle. I dunno why? Should try your way wink.gif
I think i should remove some things for more room... Thanks for ur reply  smile.gif

no problem just giving my opinion only..will drip wan la most of the time coz ur sg plays the wheel then the whole cage vibrate cause the water to drip...

well i think Dr jenny don't mean partner as in mate...u can also find another male partner for your sg as a companion...just need proper introduction...like jitshiong says if u spend enough time with them i think they are ok being single glider..in the wild they are in colonies

Those bottles drip like crazy coz it lacks of a spring in it. Get a double ball metal tip bottle or one with a spring in it. The best bottle is Critter Canteen. Another one I have has double metal balls in the tip, no dripping too. I'll get the name of the brand for you.
oh..i should get it too...do tell us the brand of the non drip ones

erm...wt does she means whn she purr while sleeping on me after hving her HPW ?  hmm.gif

her bottom white part getting round , is she too full ?  shd i feed her lesser ?

thx.  smile.gif

purr or sometimes with soft barks(very faint) means she's showing her happiness..just like a cat...

sg dont over feed themselves..so i dont think it's necessary to reduce her food as long as u give right ratio..we give the right ratio so that they don't over dose in a certain compound/supplement like protein/vitamin/mineral..if she eats a balance diet by all means let her eat to her heart content..lets say the diet is high in sugar then she might be obese..so just keep a balance diet will do...joeys need a lot of food to grow...maybe u can feed in 2 portions one in morning/afternoon and night time since babies are ment to eat more frequent then adults..

some males gliders don't have visible bald spots..mine their bald spots are slightly visible when they are about 6-7 months old..then i took them for neutering

@jolene

i put the bottle inside the exoterra since no choice to put outside..and i secure it with a few wires and i twist it to lock it in place and so that it's not easy to drop..i go one small round around the snout tightly before going around the body of the bottle..well hard to imagine without pictures..but an extra cage is good too for emergencies

@asyraf87
do u have picture?
your sg sleeping in a pouch or coconut or hamster house?

hey guys,
i wipe my gliders with baby wipes,but they still smell like piss.why is that?
any other ways to make them smell pleasant?

are your gliders males?
the pist smell i think it's the male glider smell izit?gliders are musking animals they do stink somehow but female and neutered males are very minimal only

Don't put the blame solely on Petshops, owner need to bear big responsibility too.

If you have done your research on gliders, no matter dealing with petshop or home breeder, u will able to identify whether the joey is healthy or not..

crazymouse_yyh and reanne are highly reccomended breeders...but be sure to do your research and able to answer questions if they ask..

if u are in a tight budget i suggest u just safe up and get later instead...coz to start up this hobby for having sg as pets is not cheap..u need to get suitable cage,supplements,food and vet checkups...the maintainance cost is not so much as starting up this hobby...

just read up and prepare youself..when u got the knowledge u know which joeys or sg to choose and most common senario is buying underage gliders..beware of this very important criteria..so just get yourself educated on glider care and to see if this pet is suitable for u in your daily life coz sg need your time commitment as well as lots of patience, tender love and care

well no one can categorise as best food
what we do know is in m'sia got 3 types of staple food for sg
HPW(very common-easy to get),BML diet and gliderSlurp(made by crazymouse_yyh)

along side with the staple diet we give fruits and vege
to top up we give some supplements like gliderade,glider booster,acasia gum etc
more on that we give treats like yogurt drops,mealworm,crickets,dubia etc

as u see sg are offered a huge variety so they get all the nutrience they need to stay healthy

@mingwai89

hey there..guess you are already 21?
well you're not a little kid anymore...dealing with animals is not an easy task.. they are a living thing..even raising up a human baby we need a lot of guidance and preparation..same goes to pets..as a responsible owner we should do research and know the basic care of taking care of animals moreover this is a sugar glider which is considered as an exotic pet..eric has set up a very good basic guidance on the 1st page..it's not to say perfect but we all try to update it to the very best we can to give information to readers...so take it seriously ok coz ur gliders health is in your hands

many of us even me did our research here and ask questions and learn from the experience owners before getting ours..like u said they live hamsters life b4 being with u?? i can already guess u got it from the wrong breeder/pet shop...do read up on the diet which is the most crucial thing for ur sg...they are in captivity not in the wild anymore so we have to alter and do they best we can to compensate their daily diet..

yes at first there will be a lot of reading and confusions..last time i'm also like that then i post up and we discuss it on the thread..but at least i know now and i'm willing to help guide others and share my knowledge..i belive many other experienced sg owners are trying to help u out too but u seemed to be not taking it seriously
