Hey guys o__o Mmm.. Crislyn's pouch there like showing the skin or something.. pinkish one. Isit normal? Isit just the pouch or.. ? Normally it's just a lil slit right, but this time I notice this skin thing. o_____o isit normal?!
Added on March 15, 2010, 2:51 amOwh no ! I think Crislyn has a pouch infection !! O: But.. my parents are outstation and wont be back till tues night.. how? I'm nt allowed to take a taxi or bus. HELP D: Added on March 15, 2010, 3:01 amFrom what I found, it says it could be affected by dirty cage and so on. But I just moved her into the new big cage not long ago. The red stuff wasn't there when I was playing with her ytd o__o Or maybe I didn't notice it. Gosh.. ): They say it could be spread if something dirty came in contact with her mouth too. Mmm.. what should I do now? I can't get to Dr.Jenny. Added on March 15, 2010, 3:25 amI found that they say this disease [assuming it's Giardia] would cause diarrhea, but Crislyn's poo seems fine. So i'm guessing it's an early stage. Still, I can't get to the vet that early and I need help knowing what I could do to help for now. Mmm. .they say it might dehydrate them so my goal is to rehydrate them. How do I do that? Added on March 15, 2010, 3:37 am@All Please help me pray for Crislyn that she will be well soon and have a quick recovery. And that somehow I would be able to get to the vet. Also, please pray for Criscille that she wouldn't catch the infection. I thank you all for your prayers and I really appreciate it. Hopefully a miracle would happen. No, she acts fine. But then gliders tend to be very good at hiding if they're sick and so.

Finally got a picture, hard to take as she struggled a lot. The rest I took were very blur. This picture is taken with flash, and I covered her head. The pink spot there is her pouch area. D:
I don't know if it's the same, but I assume it's the early stage of a disease known as Giardia. I googled for "pouch infection" first and came to one of Suz' Sugar Glider's page - (http://www.suzsugargliders.com/symptoms.htm) Just before "Hygiene & Diet", there's a picture of a glider where it's pouch area was pink and some skin like thing is showing as well. Mmm.. It looks nothing like that YET. But it's possible right.. S: I'm just super worried. |

The cage is clean, gonna clean it again today. Is it possible that she got the infection when I let her out to play? Cause there was once she ran to a room and got to a dusty place. Or maybe got from the food? I leave the same amount of food in 2 diff bowls. [Same bowl but got seperation in the mid.] The food is left at night and only cleaned in the morning when I wake up. Sometimes I find poo in one of the bowls. Scared they poo in there then ate the food o__o But maybe not also cause that bowl with poo, the food surely still left a lot. JitShiong ): Only can go to Dr.Jenny on Wed. Parents outstation, i'm stuck at home. @All Thanks all for your help and prayers. Should I seperate Crislyn and Criscille? I should right? In case it spreads or so. I found somewhere that it's possible to spread when they share the same drinking water too T_______________T |

Owhh.. okay.
Well, I hope it isn't pouch infection or any other diseases. >< Maybe just a bruise from something else that would heal itself? Mm.. if you don't mind, could you explain how the early stage of pouch infection you discussed with Dr.Jenny is like? So that I could observe her more and so on. At least I'd have a little idea on what I should be looking out for. |

Alright, thanks so so much Eric !
So far, she seems to still be as active as usual and always the first to come out to play at night. Her poo looks fine, so far no diarrhea. But I found something weird this morning, after playing with both Crislyn and Criscille, I put them back in their cage to rest. Both them went in the pouch right away. After quite awhile when I turn to look at the cage, I found CRISCILLE at the bottom of the cage. She's just sitting there doing nothing. She looks like she's going to sleep but I find it weird that she's OUT of the pouch and not in it with Crislyn like she normally is. I brought her back to the pouch after that and everything is normal again. This post has been edited by jolenelarhhs: Mar 15 2010, 12:22 PM |

Owhh.. mm.. nope, last time got ants. But thats very very long ago. Last year, they dissapeared few weeks after I use the water container method. Now no water container also no ants
I think it may be normal, like what u said before, that she groomed herself at that place a lil too much. hehe |
