QUOTE(jssim @ Feb 3 2010, 06:51 PM)
used evo3 still cost 4xk lah....cant afford...
Im looking for it cuz my car's sub frame bengkok d....so juz change to better quality 1 lor....
*
but if u total up your entire cost + your existing wira, i think not a big difference.
and for that u get a real evo chassis, not just the engine and brakes.
i read the real evo has s tronger chassis, they have more welding points to keep the chassis together.
our proton chassis, i think even weaker than a stock lancer (and Lancer cant even compare to EVO)

QUOTE(afosz @ Feb 4 2010, 03:59 AM)
Demmit didn't reach top 10

Can't wait for weekend. Rim sukan. 15" or 16" to go ?
*
pai sei... i tok too much nonsense, only second to sifu Oly notworthy.gif
go for 15" in my opinion. because 16" size, the rubbers are expensive
if u wan 16" might as well jump directly to 17", cheaper tyres

QUOTE(shinjite @ Feb 4 2010, 02:32 PM)
Normally its low end the torque is high then dips during the middle section and goes up again on the high end
So SOHC stock around 3000rpm it will drop then picks up again around 4000rpm and goes up till max 5000rpm
Power will keep on go up till 6000rpm, linear
oh thanks. no wonder i usually feel my torquey powerband so narrow la.
usually i shift right after 3.5k because i thought the power is all the way downwards after that.
perhaps my exhaust mod changed that slightly (moving it upwards?) but i can still feel the drop, so i upshift.
when i pull to 5k is usually when i hantam the pedal, so dont really pay attention to engine feedback (going for the loud sound only blush.gif )
later when i drive will pay attention to what u have said, and see how is the powerband like. thanks!

QUOTE(afosz @ Feb 4 2010, 02:44 PM)
Manual also choking, because I fail at balancing clutch and gas doh.gif
clutch + gas nice to play smile.gif
helps with jump starts at traffic lights and also at each gear change.
if u can control the clutch right before wheelspin, you'd get the max traction from ur tyres
but my engine cant wheelspin except for 1st gear only sweat.gif
anyway, maintaining the engine rpm at gear shifts alone is worth driving a MT
(but i understand la, in traffic jam no fun)

Masao, best way is to go dyno your car
Then you can see from there

But with mods, you can compensate it

As you can see, mine dips slightly at 3000rpm till 3500rpm then it goes up and maintains there as I am only using stock campulley. Use my graph as a reference smile.gif
*
yours 4G92 wor... surely different sad.gif
but thanks for showing me.
so probably for 4G15 (mine), the power also drops after 5.5k lor? can assume like that or not ah?

means for a stock engine, torque should be going downwards after 5k la?
i'll try to "feel" it later on when i drive. thanks so much for sharing the chart and ur experience.
btw, i was googling for dyno charts, then found one where the dyno an EVO with different engine oils.
turns out mobil1 is the best for torque and power.

i remember reading somewhere, for VTEC engines... while it CAN use lower octane fuel, it is NOT the RECOMMENDED octane for the engine.

for our engines, i wonder if there is also a recommended octane to use? perhaps its RON96 tongue.gif

well, its lighter...but cant use for long..
rite?
*
when u say cant use for long, do u mean
- cannot use for long distance? or
- cannot keep this tyre in the car boot for long time?
looking at the picture, these tyres need pump air or not?
seller say pcd100 with 15" size... tempted la.
coz its lightweight rite?

Added on February 6, 2010, 11:13 pmjust notice the cause of my engine overheat a bit these days...rupanyer the radiator fan last time got a bit sound now moving slow already..not smooth...wana try DIY tongue.gif
*
DIY fix radiator fan? better dun play play with this.
mine last time also like that, suka-suka the fan will stop, engine temp goes up.
then if the fan works again, the temp goes down. actually the fan motor dying.
better fix/change it asap just in case. else if engine overheat... jialat...

QUOTE(Aeon_Clock @ Feb 7 2010, 12:25 AM)
guys, I just got into an minor accident yesterday...whacked the front and side lights. Is the cheap imitation lights ok to use?
*
can la, i using one side signal light imitation. cheap cheap.
but the colour is different compared to my Bosch ones sweat.gif nvm la, signal only, seldom both sides turn ON same time also.

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Feb 7 2010, 05:35 PM)
Find me too, but not late night or peksan. My tyre grip sucks like hell. I hear screech when I run over pools of water even the car is straight. laugh.gif
*
those from Melaka, there's this road in front of Maktab Perempuan there.
the entire stretch of road, if u goes slightly above 60kph u can hear your tyre starting to lose grip tongue.gif

QUOTE(Oly @ Feb 8 2010, 12:12 AM)

*** look down on ppl kancil ar hahaha
*
eh dont play play with kancil ok...
i never drive kancil turbo before, but should be damn powerful.
coz the chassis is very lightweight. last time i test charade turbo from friend, so i know the feeling.
lightweight chassis + powerful engine = very fun to drive car nod.gif

Yeah, lightweight + powerful engine = best of both worlds

Lightweight cars, corners faster and can do late braking
*
yalor, lightweight cars feels very responsive, and thus they are really fun to drive.
actually heck, even a stock Kelisa is fun to drive. Those of u driven one before will know what i mean.
the power to weight ratio is good. if only Kelisa was released the same time as Kenari, i would have bought one.
love the design too.

diy fix radiator fan vr susah meh??...  shocking.gif

where is maktab perempuan in melaka anyway??..  blush.gif
*
DIY fix fan not hard, but if the motor needs replace, better just replace than trying to fix it lor.
last time mine, intermittent function (kejap ada, kejap takda) dangerous la.

Maktab Perempuan is near Semabok area (i think)
its near the crossroad at the store called "KeluargaKu" there.
here's the place http://ms.wikipedia.org/wiki/Institut_Perg...erempuan_Melayu

what road is dat woh cannot go above 60kmh??.. everywhere i travel in melaka averaging 70-80kmh... except the stupid brick road in front of MP and AFamosa...  mad.gif  mad.gif
*
not the speed limit. coz i thk the speed limit follows city area limit.
but i mean even if u speed, u can feel ur tyres losing grip. but that road looks dry n normal, dunno why still less traction.
(or maybe its my tires? doh.gif ) but only happen at this stretch of road.... haunted? shocking.gif shocking.gif

Thinking of getting those cap ayam frameless wiper. Is it any good??
*
its luck la, depends which cap ayam also. some are better, some are worse than others.
anyway, wiper is a pakai-dan-buang item (wear n tear item) so after few months, throw away n get new ones.
just try lor
