anyone experienced high black oil consumption before in 4G15 EFI auto?
-changed valve seal = still "eating" blacking oil~
-checked for smoke from exhaust pipe = no black-smoke
-checked for leaking = spark plug distributor part got very little wet (is it possible leaking?) but no significant oil drop on floor if car is park overnite
-oil consumption only happen after hard-driving (high speed 140km/h, rpm 4~5k)

any ideas?

and rear left spring making "ngek-ngek" sound when goin over bumps, is that normal?

I only know absorber gong liaw..

dont look for black smoke, look for..er..bluish (is it blue? cant remember..I think it is) white, BLUEISH WHITE, black smoke will only come out if the mixture is too rich (I think)
valve seal? I think you should look at your piston ring.

its your spring making a problem, or probably your absorber, or both biggrin.gif change it la...nowadays Wira part very cheap...

1 carton = 24 cans ....... half carton = 12 cans .... semi carton = 6 cans .... aiya, me good fella give u 12 cans for u to fix my brake pads ... wakekekeke ... problem is i scared too expensive, i cant pay for it only ... mintye amd bosch cheap?

Hello guys, my engine light will on after i drive over 120km/h. And after checking the mechanic say is my speed sensor rosak liaw. and it cost around RM40 for the speed sensor. Total cost will be around RM80 include installation. Is the price ok?
Can i know whr is the speed sensor location? mayb i can pasang myself.. haha
*
speed sensor is located behind ur speedometer ... i think i did mention in ur thread in Technical Talk before ...
if ur speedo is white in color, u will notice a small black piece right away ... or take a pic then i point it out for u ...

in ur case, most probably is engine oil vaporize due to the immense heat ...
wat viscosity of engine oil u using? .. using too thin viscosity (?w30 and below) might also make it vaporize ...
possible solution, lose/spoiled engine cap... engine oil viscosity too low ...

some information for u and the others,

checking for smoke is useless, unless ur engine is really in serious shit.... u should check the exhaust muffler tip, run ur finger around the muffler tip and check if the tip are oily after a drive ... if its oily then means engine oil is going into ur combustion chamber ... but i highly doubt it coz u changed valve seals, better check to confirm ...

check the area below + around the engine bay ... sometimes it might be ur engine valve cover gasket harden thus causing a leak, we call it engine oil 'seeping' out ... check for oil stains ... in this situation, u will probably need to topup engine oil once a month or a month half depending on how serious the condition ...

about ur ngek ngek .. i think its ur abs ... coz spring seldom problem this kind of sound and if camber it should be 'klok klok' ... not sure about this so correct me if i am wrong ...

read above .... don simple say piston ring .... piston ring is always the last thing to look at coz its the most expensive and difficult thing to repair ...
i hate it (not refering to u) that those cb mech, when mention about engine oil consumption 1st time they mention is piston rong kong and the only way to repiar is full/top overhaul ...

changing the spring and abs are not cheap lo, whole set good abs around RM1k+, of course gotta see brand, type and sports/comfort ... it is recommended if u wan change then change a pair ... don change one single one ... springs are mostly lifetime usage, seldom have problem unless DIY cut or mod or factory defect ..

wow thx sifu up there pointin out all the details...
i'm using 15w-40w castrol black oil and i'm topping up once a week if i got hard driving/long distance for 5~6hours
oil consumption is terrifying and sometimes it goes from middle line (based on the engine oil level on the dipstick)
to EMPTY [DRY, no oil on dipstick]
one more thing is radiator water got less significantly after hard driving
(my engine doesnt "eat" black oil only, it oso "eat" WATER!! wad a monster)

then try 15W 50 n see if it's still consuming engine oil or not~
as for radiator's water try open up ur bonet n start ur engine n cheak for water leakage~

i would suggest u change ur engine oil cap 1st ... 15w40 is still considered ok .... once changed then monitor again, before changing better check around ur engine bay for oil stains just to confirm ....

about radiator water ... do as wat cheeann suggested, he very pro de .. hahaha XP

quick question, my 1.3 meter panel does not have a rpm gauge. if i get the three gauges from a 1.5 (tacho, speedo, and fuel&temp), can i place them on my existing 1.3 meter panel? since my car doesnt have a rpm meter originally, how to i hook up the new rpm gauge to get a reading?

i hope you understand my question, i'm not trying to swap 1.3 meter panel with a 1.5 panel, just want to replace the gauges in my current panel with gauges from a 1.5.. thanks

Questions:
1. Can i change to Waja springs but remain using my standard Wira1.5 absorbers? Coz just changed the front not long ago, dun wanna waste money sad.gif How extra tall will the car be, roughly?
2. anyone got tips how to remove the side OEM spoilers on our Wira? The plastic spoilers on the side mirrors... All 4 of them i wanna remove, but i scared the double-side tape very hard to remove cleanly. anyone, please?

ask you mech to check, and if can be used, just oil it. if sound goes away, no need replace for now smile.gif

wah.... 5-6hours driving will bring ur engine oil to DRY, sounds serious. i'd rather send to trusted mech to check, rather than guess n topup engine oil like that. i thk the amount u spent on topup will accumulate a lot. Your radiator probably got a leak somewhere. I suggest the simplest thing, change your radiator cap first. what is your engine temperature during driving?

u mean swap the new gauges into your OEM panel?
very nice if u plan the cluster properly. i like this idea, but got no reason to do such a thing (touch wood)
look at image below, what this guy did. He basically removed the OEM panel and made his own custom panel (salute)

also this one below, found from internet. looks like it swapped in a tachometer on the right?
is that it?

changed radiator cap already and engine temperature is normal all along(in between High and Low = middle, it will stay constant all the way eventhou i'm driving 140km/h)
i'm goin to try forumers solution on the engine oil cap, i'm suspecting the rubber has harden as i can open the cap easily without effort, unlike my sister's 4G15 which require abit of force to open the cap....
