My fren's Wira, every morning got screeching sound from engine bay, like something caused by friction.

Only happens when the car is idle.

Whats the problem ar?

i got Wira hatchback 1.5 year 2004/2005 Siemens VDO.AT

already reach 80k already in last few weeks. and planning to :

a) change timing belt + set = (recommended brand,workshop,place)
use original one is ok liao.. i think it's called mitsuboshi (forget ler), workshop.. if you're in batu pahat, i can recommend you. 

b) service ATF = ( recommended brand,and proper way to keep maintain my auto gearbox well)
use diamond queen III or toyota atf IV, then the filter please use orignal one. i change the oil once a year. the filter, forget de.

c) install the VS + grounding cable = ( dun know it give benefit or not)
VS get the proper one, like pivot. (i do believe it will benefit the electrical stuff since, capacitor is use to stabilise the voltage. and grounding cable can be beneficial for old car.

d) use sport plug cable.maybe bosch ( now using stock one only) whats the different anyway?
sport plug cable not much difference. stock one better!.

also,using stock engine only.no mod whatsoever...also im not type of racing person.just drive relax and more care about engine maintaining.if can make my car FC less,more good thumbup.gif
want good FC? use a manual gearbox. if still prefer auto. use a 1.6gearbox believe it or not, my current 4g93t has better fc than my 1.5auto (before convert)

also,

when i speed up to 100km/h my RPM meter will rise about 3.5k. is that normal? my friend said its too high
i cant remember what's the actual rpm, but 1.5auto only have 3speed. i believe it's normal. my top speed with 1.5auto was 165kmh with 4ppl and trunk full of luggage.

change to 1.6 gearbox?

oni gearbox?what about my engine or ECU?doesnt effect if i change to gearbox alone?

been few days my car engine bay got metal grinding sound (greeeeehhh grehhh...) finally able to isolate where the sound is coming from - the AC compressor. the sound happens even when the AC is off, thus suspect the compressor bearings. Turns out i was right. removed the compressor belt - no sound. put back on, got sound. changed the bearings for rm25, problems solved! just to share.

last weekend hit 160kph at highway then only the problem above started. dunno related or not, but maybe.

Ooo . My fren tukar his Bosch Super 4 plugs here for 200++ (satria). That was last year. In fact I asked a few shops here for plat plugs (NGK/Bosch), most say its RM 45-60 per plug. Luckily I took iridium then, din't kena potong so bad.
Yeah, costly for me but the lady boss nice enough to help me do free balancing, cleaning and also car wash 
160 is including labour cost? Maybe next time I should DIY if its easy

yeha you advised me the reason why my engine kept jerking the first few mins I start my car is cuz the fuel filter stuck or fuel pump not working. I'm glad the problem is the fuel filter!

The mechanic took the filter out, the liquid that came out of the filter (outlet) was black in colour  .  I could see his face also  .

i recently changed the following. is it reasonable?
1) OSK Proton 1.6 Air Filter rm25
2) Nasa Radiator Coolant (red) 2xrm21
3) saga engine oil cap rm18
4) brake fluid dot 3 350ml 3xrm15
5) Nasa power steering fluid 1L 3xrm45

1. so i'm paying ori price for imitation? damn...
2. pre-diluted radiator water better? does all SC have them?
4. is dot 4 the grade? kind of noob in this...
5. i hv no idea. i assume dot 4 better?
