From what I know is, the warranty covering the RAM would be voided, but not the other parts or unless the other parts is damaged by the RAM upgrade, then it is not covered by warranty... Though this may vary from one company to the others tongue.gif

hey bro..

would an brand news s42 without HDD and RAM be priced at rm2050 be worth better than a

s42 with 500gb HDD and 2gb with 4 months warranty left priced at rm2200??

which would be better eh??

and btw.. if i mix 1x 2gb 800mhz with 1x 2gb 667 mhz. it would still be fine right?? since s42 utilise 667 Mhz only

EDIT: I myself actually have 1 spare 500GB HDD waiting and a spare 2gb ddr2 800Mhz myself.. so i thought of buying a ram.. but could only find 667 MHz only.. so would it be ok to mix em up?

I would take brand new over second hand tongue.gif
with full 1 year warranty?

the ram would be fine, it would just run at the lowest speed.

Doesn't really matter much, its not like there's noticeable performance...

I myself mix 667 and 800 in my acer and still running fine, where my cpu only run at 533 tongue.gif

PM45 chipset supports DDR3 1066MHz, DDR3 800MHz, DDR2 800MHz and DDR2 667MHz...

for S42's case, it's DDR2 only...

mixing RAM is not really a problem now... it will just run at the lower speed...
