i'm also having this problem. how long did you have to wait to get back your laptop? have to put it there ar?

don't think i can put my laptop there for so long since i need it for programming..

alright i will. bah very unconvienient for me. 2 weeks is still quite long haha..

ouch.. what i mean is, while they're sourcing/waiting for the parts, can i take my laptop back or must i leave it there?

heheh guys. is it advisable to change the thermal paste in the S57? i have some coolermaster thermal paste left hanging around.

normally thermal paste is better than the sticker right? :l

ehh guys. when i send my laptop to the SC, must i have the receipt or will the barcode on my lappy be sufficient?

i bought it on september last year so it's still under warranty.

well if manufactured date still okay.. it's april.

Haha. seems that every s57 owners had that problem. sigh. i've already sent my laptop in on Monday. now am just waiting. will they call when it's done?

eh guys on S57 notebooks. what's your average battery time on power saving mode ar? i'm just getting 2 hours and 9 mins. is that normal? :S

uhhm. let's see. i put on power saver mode. i dimmed my brightness to the lowest. apps running at that time are google chrome, msn messenger and windows media player but just music, on headphones not loud.

on the taskbar there's AVIRA and ATi control panel and MSN.

how ar.. what's the optimum settings? :S

bb: but what can i do other than undervolting? because i usually use my laptop in uni.

haha i'll try. any recommendations?

hahaha i tried undervolting it already. not bad. battery life to 2 hours 32 mins, but not quite 3 hours yet. temps are low also. idle is around 36 to 39C, max also 74-76C. for GPU min idle is around high 40s and max around high 80s. awesome.

btw, my sister has a S41.. any idea on how to control fan speed ar? Because on idle hers is around low 50 plus.. but the fan is on full 24/7. quite annoying esp in a quiet library.. haha
