You can attempt to not declare it, and might get away with it if they don't perform car search cry.gif

As for stuff coming thru KLIA... sorry la you can't escape.

I thought they only tax if they assume you want to sell?

If you break the seal it should be fine

take out of the box, put in your carrying bag!

why dont put in luggage? after they throw around the rosak!

if u really scared, put a sticker, so that it looks like it is use.

dont put everything inside the box, it will look new.

press the box flat, and put in ur luggage. put the ps3 in the carrying bag. then they will assume that you brought the ps3 over to play.

do note if u buy from taiwan, u cannot claim warranty if rosak~

Technically you are correct.

However they are not going to send an officer to follow you around and make sure you don't sell, so they take the 'worst' case scenario.

Duty free doesn't mean free of customs tax at the arrival point ok? It means free of tax from the country of purchase.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duty-free_shop <-- Read 1st and 2nd sentence.

When you bring in something from another country, it is consider importing. The tax applies when your item is above a certain value for the category that your item belongs to.

I can't actually confirm it, but plenty of forumers who bought PS3s from Singapore carried them over without getting taxed by breaking the seal beforehand.

is the price cheap enough to offset all the potential problems you might face?

i would rather spend abit more and get a local set-unless it's half the price...
