DaEMoNteNTAcLe, well done review, as poisonous as ClieOS smile.gif

How is this compare to PL50 (budget balanced armature)?

when comparison done, it was concluded with something less here and there.
however, when the unit compared with 85% of other products, or something that higher than this range. the RE0 still considered the legend biggrin.gif

i find that it's very hard to find iem, or earphone with good sounding highs anyways.. most of them r harsh.. so i cant really use them coz it hurts my ears..
but re0 doesnt, even though it's very bright and has well played highs.. so, it still deserve a good credit.

anyways.. seems like i really need m04r basss... coz i tried the atrio m8 (thx chingwooi for bringing it) and it sounded nice..
update: changed to sony hybrid tips... and.. seems like i got m04r bass.. drool.gif
will test out a few..
yep.. possibly lack of burnin (just started tryin again after another 10hr burnin today, total about 30hr..) and also isolation issue.. found with proper isolation.. i got more juice from the music. thumbup.gif

I like recessed mids though because i think it should sound like that since our ears are most sensitive on mids.

okay, my previous iem was Philips SHE9850

compared to that, SE777 is very very clear sound... different level of audio...

but why they design the case like so many sharp edges ... painful when you insert the IEM too deep and it 'cut' your skin
also, isolation is a problem because my Philips SHE9850 has a 'normal' size for attaching the tips, and i can use Etymotic tips which are isolation specialists ...
but SE777 is 2x huge, so not sure if i can find tips with good isolation + can fit on ...

but one more good thing is the cable doesnt make the scratching sound when you rub it, much better than my SHE9850

listening music for 15 minutes, my ears all red already... stupidlah this case design, look like it was made in 1990 , wear properly also cannot....

Added on March 15, 2010, 6:47 pmi almost feel regret buying this IEM, so much pain in my ears... Walabies recommend it to me, but i recommend people DONT buy this

As I have pointed out on the review, the stock eartips isn't really that well. I uses clone Sony Hybrid on mine and don't have any problem anymore, bi-flanges should work as well.

QUOTE(ClieOS @ Jan 31 2010, 02:15 PM)
...The only complaint I have is the overall length of the single flange eartips. They do feel solid to me, but they are a bit short. The problem is that the unusually large earpeice and the short eartips are simply a bad combo. To fit the eartips properly, I have to push the housing deeper than I usually would, and as a result feel quite uncomfortable when the earpieces are pressing against my ears. The solution is quite simple - I used some Sony Hybrid clone eartips instead of the stock single flange and now the earpieces sit at the right distance which won't irritate me anymore.

i have the sony clone eartips as well
the stock double flanges are longer than the sony clone eartips, so they keep the casing further out than the sony clone eartips... but it is still not far enough
if i can find an even longer tip, then i think it will be ok

but that is only avoiding the problem... its not solving the problem....
the problem is the stupid square bracket , so many sharp edges on it, and so thick also...

im going to buy the comply foam tips, because they are not flanges it means they dont 'overlap' with the casing, and it should keep the casing even further from my ear...

@ClieOS bro, do you think T100 long stem comply tips will fit SE777?

Not sure about T100. As fas as Comply goes, I only have T400 and Comply-P with me now, and T400 fits just fine. SE777 has the large nozzle size so those that meant for small nozzle probably won't fit.

also, the nozzle has a huge 'rim' which makes it look like a pipe from Mario Bros , so the tip will need to have a thick 'lip' to go behind this 'rim'

comply foams have different stalks meant for different IEM's, hopefully there is one which will fit the SE777

have to disassemble the IEM, take the bracket and use Dremel to carve the corners

update:
gave this thing about 2-3hr pink noise with eq 20-700hz bumped a bit at my mid listening volume..
and after that i got ample amount of bass.. bass wasnt really there in the first place...

and continued burnin for about 20hr.. and now it doesnt sound harsh anymore.. this thing requires quite sometime to settle down..
otherwise clarity is very good. i'd use this to listen to orchestra and guitars.

now back to using the bi-flanges, i like the materials of the tips.. it's kinda between plastic and rubber, and doesnt seem to get oily. other stock flanges are too short for my use that the body touches my ears..

Added on March 18, 2010, 2:18 pmupdate again:
my ph0ne broke..
so got a replacement.. k850..
then suddenly i found the output is quite strong..
so used my w1 to dampen the output.. with the se777..
damn i got hifi.. (to my ears at least.. laugh.gif)

and also noticed that fitting is actually kinda big issue with the se777.. when i manage to get proper fit.. i find the overall signature to be quite to my liking.. instead of just having nice vocals.. but i cant be holding this to my ears all the time.. sad.gif

im sensitive to the biflanges, the pressure in my ear is painful and it makes the contact of the body with my skin worse
using comply foams, better isolation, more comfy , somehow i can insert them deeper without feeling anything... and it makes it sound less harsh treble as well

can anyone contact sherwood or comply? i have suggestion ... the 'stalk' of the foam should be extended, so it will hold the body further away, then it should stop touching...

Why not just wrote to Comply yourself. I am sure they will like to listen to constructive feedback.
