okay, my previous iem was Philips SHE9850

compared to that, SE777 is very very clear sound... different level of audio...

but why they design the case like so many sharp edges ... painful when you insert the IEM too deep and it 'cut' your skin
also, isolation is a problem because my Philips SHE9850 has a 'normal' size for attaching the tips, and i can use Etymotic tips which are isolation specialists ...
but SE777 is 2x huge, so not sure if i can find tips with good isolation + can fit on ...

but one more good thing is the cable doesnt make the scratching sound when you rub it, much better than my SHE9850

listening music for 15 minutes, my ears all red already... stupidlah this case design, look like it was made in 1990 , wear properly also cannot....

Added on March 15, 2010, 6:47 pmi almost feel regret buying this IEM, so much pain in my ears... Walabies recommend it to me, but i recommend people DONT buy this

As I have pointed out on the review, the stock eartips isn't really that well. I uses clone Sony Hybrid on mine and don't have any problem anymore, bi-flanges should work as well.
*
i have the sony clone eartips as well
the stock double flanges are longer than the sony clone eartips, so they keep the casing further out than the sony clone eartips... but it is still not far enough
if i can find an even longer tip, then i think it will be ok

but that is only avoiding the problem... its not solving the problem....
the problem is the stupid square bracket , so many sharp edges on it, and so thick also...

im going to buy the comply foam tips, because they are not flanges it means they dont 'overlap' with the casing, and it should keep the casing even further from my ear...

also, the nozzle has a huge 'rim' which makes it look like a pipe from Mario Bros , so the tip will need to have a thick 'lip' to go behind this 'rim'

comply foams have different stalks meant for different IEM's, hopefully there is one which will fit the SE777

Is there a ergonomics quick fix for people with smaller ears?
*
have to disassemble the IEM, take the bracket and use Dremel to carve the corners

im sensitive to the biflanges, the pressure in my ear is painful and it makes the contact of the body with my skin worse
using comply foams, better isolation, more comfy , somehow i can insert them deeper without feeling anything... and it makes it sound less harsh treble as well

can anyone contact sherwood or comply? i have suggestion ... the 'stalk' of the foam should be extended, so it will hold the body further away, then it should stop touching...

try give it some time.. i found the harshness gone after about 80hr burnin..
*
the harshness its not my problem... its the fit of the casing in my ear, very uncomfortable
if longer tips are used, the treble will be reduced even further... but it is the only way to avoid injury to my ear

actually i like the way it sounds now, nice and crisp... i hope it doesnt get duller over time
these IEM's remind me when i was using open-type dynamic full size headphones, when i didnt have to worry about noise isolation... ever since i bought closed headphones, and my last IEM's, i have to get used to the sound like scratching paper like that... but now these IEM's sound much better

waiting for it to arrive

question want to ask, how can i give suggestion to Sherwood?
the case can be dissasembled, that means you can change the front of the casing... so if the front change to smaller stalk, that means can use etymotic, shure, westone, etc tips

yes, in this reply http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=findpost&pid=32537125 i already said that they have more isolation and more comfort

i am waiting to try out the t400's to see if they can keep the casing away from my ear entirely

and about the "mod" ... its supposed to be a suggestion to Sherwood, if they can make different shape front half case then its good, we can buy it as 'aftermarket parts' and customize our SE777's

but if not, then i buy dremel and micrometer caliper...
