both still dual core, just that the i3 has hyperthreading, which makes it seems like there's 4 cores. This would really depends on the apps whether can utilize it or not.
The main thing here is the integrated graphic card from intel, the latest gen, GMA HD is supposed to be twice or more powerful than the last gen, 4500M HD while keeping the power consumption almost the same... |

Core i, IGP faster, smaller production@32nm, so cooler temp, clock by clock, core i-series is faster than the older c2d...
Though this depends which c2d and core-i you are comparing... |

Acer 4740G, i5 430M + Nvidia 310M@RM2499
or Acer 4745G, i5 430M + ATi HD5470/GMA HD@RM2699... pretty much similar spec, differ price RM100 and warranty length... Though if gaming is the top priority, consider BenQ S42, P8700 + Nvidia 9600M GT@RM2699, although its older generation, it still more powerful than those mentioned before... QUOTE(accutane @ Mar 24 2010, 11:25 PM) Hi, everyone If want cheap, can consider My brother plans to buy a laptop, but the last time i bought a laptop was like years ago, so i need ur valuable opinion 1. Brand: prefer compaq, asus or other. 2. Budget: the cheaper the better, 1.8k? or less? 3. Specs: just a basic one will do, for normal use only like online, watch video or chatting 4. Size: not important sorry if it's not so specific, generally he just need a cheap laptop with average spec with warranty. Thanks a lot! 13'': Dell Inspiron 13@RM1399 14'': Dell Inspiron 14@RM1499 |
