Hi, could you help recomend a laptop for a 60 yrs old, for home + business use?

1. Brand.
Anything reputable for durable, reliable, and dependable... that would last for the next 5 yrs at least.

2. Budget.
up to 3.5k (maybe 4k) to include Pro OS, MS Off 2007 SBE.

3. Specs.
His last company laptop was lenovo x300, so better give something that would give him good speed in using MS Office, Lots of internet browsing, and some light games.

4. Size.
probably no bigger than 14" coz he travels very extensively.

Being a non-techie, he is very easily irritable when the notebook doesnt respond smile.gif)

oh doesnt have to be comparable with Lenovo x300. that unit was severely underutilized anyway. just something reliable and wont drive him crazy smile.gif

he really is just a basic user. Not beyond email and web browsing. the only game that he plays is solitaire smile.gif

Hi Lee

Just checked out the specs of the 3 options you had recomended.

Would the HP dm3-1031TX with SP9300 + nvidia G105M (RM 3499) be dramatically better than the Dell?

The price difference between the Vostro & Lattitude is only Rm100 if I equalize the spec (except screen size - vostro 13.3') Of the two, which is a more reliable unit?

"Consider Dell™ Vostro 1220@RM2899, 12.1'', Win 7 Pro, 1 year warranty
Dell Latitude™ E5400@RM3200, 14.1'', Win 7 Pro, 3 years warranty
HP dm3-1031TX with SP9300 + nvidia G105M (RM 3499)"
