Hello all, Im new here.

A relative of mine ask me to buy her an average laptop for normal use, mayb working, watching movies, light games. She is in east malaysia, so im thinking of buying laptop or notebook that was easy to maintained, and not a hassle when repairing or want to upgrade.

Didnt mention preferred brand or spec but budget is around RM1.7k

What kind of light games?

Is there any problem running laptop with 64-bit? Will older version software malfunction?

Oh, if games like that, integrated graphic should be enough.

Though if want to play recent games, can consider Lenovo G455@RM 1700...

For the Dell Inspiron 14, it included windows 7 Home Basic, means no those fancy effect, if want, can upgrade to Home premium.
While the Lenovo G455 no OS provided...

im interested in the alienware m11x previously as i need a small notebook to carry around but i want to game on it too(modern warfare2, bioshock2 etc..). But the fact that it doesnt have an optical drive made me think twice

i read from another lowyat forum that the Asus N82Jv, i5 520M + Nvidia GT 335M and is priced at RM3999. However the shop is in PJ digitalmall.

Does anyone knows where can i get one in Ipoh?
oh and also is this notebook a good choice for gaming (the games i mentioned)

Well, for how well N82Jv would game, you can always refer always to the M11X benchmark, it will be at least that since N82Jv has better CPU and the same GPU.
