I have an interview with Fusionex next week. Anybody have experience with that org before ? Is that a good company to work for ? Please tell me what sort of questions that they usually ask during interview. I just wanna know whether it is gonna b technical questions or involve any sorta test during interview. Thanks all in advance. Oh umm one thing, how much salary I can expect from that org as a fresh grad.

is it located at amcorp, pj?

been there for interview before.

the worst interview experience i ever have. the interviewer ask me questions is like interrogate me. cry.gif

the interviewer will ask a lot of technical questions, be prepared.

the interviewer(team lead) may have knowledge on new technology but for some older technology he may not know. doh.gif
like my case, my interviewer seem to have lack of knowledge about VB 6.0.
I remember that he asked me which tool i use for VB 6.0 and i told him that i use the software VB 6.0 because i learn that in 2003.
But he keep insisting that VB is include in Visual Studio.

But i think he does not know that VS is only out in 2005. In 2003, we are still using VB 6.0.
I really felt like leaving the interview but manage to leave in a well manner.
But the whole day i was depressed by the way he ask questions.

One more thing, are you a fresh grad?
if you are a fresh grad, have you completed your degree and obtained your cert.
During my interview in 2009, i have completed my degree studies and waiting for my convo in 2010.
He said that i have not graduated and why am i asking more than 2k. sweat.gif
he is weird. By the way he said, then i need to be jobless and wait for one year after i get my cert i only can work.

But i dont have problem with interviews with other companies with just transcript.
So make sure you have already obtained your degree cert when you going for interview.

So that is my experience of interview there. I dont wanna go there for interview anymore.

Be prepare with the technical questions he will be asking and depend to which computer languages you know. eg, SQL query, java, stored procedure, asp.net, VB and etc. There are no test.

the lobby is nice, like cybercafe.

But from what i know, the clients are from US. you may get a chance to travel.

Gambatte!

that is only my experience lar... really my worst intervier experience ever..

for you, mayb not the same. mayb he will like you.

there are many young people working there.
i often see the company post the job on jobdb and did not state the company name, only stated they are international company.

example questions:
1. what is stored procedure?
2. What is the outer join for SQL query?
3. How to link to control to another page?

so you still waiting for last semester result? why not wait still you get result only go interview? what if you failed(touch wood)?
i only start apply once my result last semester result came out.
but i think if it is the same interviewer, he will tell you the same thing "You are not graduated and you dare to ask for more than 2k?".
this is how he tell me, sound sarcastic to me. maybe is because he only talk computer language since he only do programming and facing computer, so he may not know how to communicate with people.

so you really plan to do programming?

with just transcript, i have a few job offers and already work in second company after complete my studies unofficially(waiting for convo).
1st was a goverment project company, now is with a US-based company.

so think about the interviewer really outdated with current education system that thinking we must get our degree cert only consider as graduated.
He gonna be crazy if he think that i have to wait and unemployed for one year for convo in order to work. I told my lecturer and he also think that interviewer is funny.

one more thing.
he will also ask some of the common interview questions.
for the question that similar to "why should we hire you?", try with something creative. he don't wanna hear the common answer for "because i am a quick learner, willing to learn, good attitude and personalties...etc." he said all the interviewees said that. So i also dont know what he wanna listen to.

So just try your best.

i think there are already tread talking about this company, try to search it.

haha. Yeah the interviewer must have been some kinda computer geek. He went a bit hard on ya I would say. LOL I'd have given the same answer anyway if i were asked "why should we hire ya" question. Thanks for sharing your experience. Since, I have already made the appointment with the company, I'll go to the interview anyway. hehe see how it go and will share my experience back here. lol

Just try your best lar...

what i wrote is from my experience.. just ignore the negative comment of it.. and go to the interview with your best..

if it happened like my case, just take it as a experience for greater improvement for the coming interviews..

now i have moved from back end to front end...

if you really like programming and good at it... then go for it...

just try ur best in the interview

the interviewer will mostly be ur future superior.. so during the interview, you will also get to know ur future superior..

The interview was ok. I didn't experience like you did. Thanks god ! LOL . I forgot my interviewer name hehe. Yeah as u did mention the interviewer asked A LOT OF technical questions. At that moment I thought i was back in the database exam hall and taking the paper. I think the working enviornment there is quite cool. Saw lots of youngsters r working there. I dunno if they offer me the job I might go for it. I like to travel and it might involve traveling.

Hmmm my experience was entirely different... But I guess if you're signing up for a business analyst position, things might differ? Yeah I do get technical questions as well - concepts and understanding of some areas in programming and business sector.

With cert in hand or not (if you're going to grad that is), wasn't the key factor in determining your eligible , it was the self-presentation and well as how good you tackle the questions, showing them confidence in yourself at the same time showing them respect.

btw the company's follows the reward-the-hard/smartworker concept and is very much performance-based. If you carry out your work diligently, you'll be rewarded in some ways. To top that, if you're on probation and you get confirmed (and you've performed well), you'll get somewhat a good raise smile.gif

That's my input though biggrin.gif

i hope NONE of you all join Fusionex. My ex worked there and apparently these are the 'working environment':

- staffs are expected to work on Saturday and Sunday. Better still, if they can be in office from 9am onwards.

- managers would call the staff and talk about work, MULTIPLE TIMES even if it's around 11pm at night.

- managers expect the staff to go back and continue eventhough the staff needed to leave office due to personal reasons.

- staffs are expected to work at least until 10pm daily. If any staffs leave around 7pm, my cousin actually overheard one of the managers suggested to the project manager that he should load that staff more tasks since that fella could go back so early. Apparently a few freshies did not understand this 'culture' and went home about 6-7pm. Next update was they were badly lectured by the HR.

-staff are bonded for 3 months for receiving bonus. In addition, notice period is 3 months....all together 6 months! (i wish them luck when they want to resign..i wonder if there's any company willing to wait for 6 months..)

By the way, i broke off with my ex because i dont feel i am being the priority in his life when work is in the picture. anyway, i wish you all good luck and for those who doubt my words, by all means, go and seek clarification. Also, i feel sorry for the guy whose marriage is breaking down as well due to the workload he needs to bear in this company.

just a word to conclude this - it's your decision to decide if it's worth to give up your family/personal life/love life for this company.

I don't think what 'dancingdolphine' said is true and fair.

I'm happy working here and I enjoy the great benefits here. I have friends working in different projects in Fusionex and all of them can go home on time. None of them get any "so called HR lecture" or being scolded. Sometimes, they do stay back, but...is to play "dragon ball" in office! (We have an xbox kinect in office! muahahaha) tongue.gif

There are currently 2 projects rushing for timeline, and those in these 2 teams are working very hard to meet the timeline. But all projects have peak time. Although sometimes I feel tired, but I'm happy to work in a team and I've learnt many things! I can say this loud because I'm working in one of these 2 projects.

Every company and project is unique and at times we do have to give our commitment to our cilents.

Let me give you a true picture, in Fusionex you will either fit into its fast pace environment, or you might not fit in if you can’t cope with the pace. So there will be two categories. No one is right nor wrong. You just need to know your pace, but don’t ask others to slow down because of you. I like a fast paced environment so I belong to the first category of staff.

If you want a good salary and a challenging environment then go for exciting and aggressive companies like Fusionex. I am qualified to compare since I have worked in many companies, which have their pros and cons.

My view is if the person cannot make it due to personal commitments or constraints, then raise your concern (I for one have done so, and the Fusionex manager that I worked with was very understanding and accomodated my requests. I am not a manager in Fusionex. Am not part of the management team either. But I’m going to be fair in my statement, the company is by far one of the better companies I’ve worked for. If the client requires something urgent and you can’t cope with it, do voice out and work with the manager, and I’m sure they will assist you. Don’t just complain. I’ve sulked before and that doesn’t work. I then tried to communicate with my manager and now that’s much better. Lesson learnt!

If you have concerns, speak to the manager or your mentor, and they will help you. If you are closed up and don’t wish to share, you should not blame the rest for not opening up and seeking help.

If you want to excel, have opportunities and be a leader, and to get the best training in the industry, then Fusionex is one of the best there is to make you the best in the industry.

well, it's sad that you works there but didn't know the past events that really happened in there. Sounds like you are one of the managers/seniors there trying to cover what the actual incidents happened there.

anyway, like i said, things won't get posted for no reason and since i dont work, i dont see the reason why i need to waste time and effort telling bed time stories.

i only meant good and try to share and warn ppl to be careful when choosing the company. It's not necessary to go through what i have been through especially if that person is your husband, wife, bf/gf who needs your personal time and attention, and not working full day during weekends / recieving calls multiple times when 2 of you just trying to enjoy some sweet moments together.

When the fundamental of Respecting people's personal time / after working office hour is not given to the staff, it does not matter how many dragon ball games they have, it still meaningless -- only those who has no life does not mind about being treated like a work slave....

I've got a friend working in Fusionex and she enjoys every minute of it. It's a fast growing company (recently got listed in the London Stock exchange, not bad for a Malaysian company!) and there's plenty of projects going on all the time. According to her, the management and the working level is very close and everybody is like one big family there. Plenty of opportunities to learn and if there's anything wrong, can always approach the management to voice out concerns.

This company lives by "work hard, play hard mantra".

Well, recently i plan tO change job and I do try with this company ..
But after some sharing from my fren who work there b4 ..
I seriously will say NO for this company ...

Some shares from my fren :

- super chinaman company and very calculative

- ot everyday due to very short timeline that given,
Changes in last minutes will not extend project delivery day

- if u bck ontime, hr will ask ur superior to gv u more tasks ..or educate u..

- for those who get bonus can not resign within 3-4mths ..
Termination notice period before confirm is 2 myths and aft confirm will b more ..
(My fren level is 3 mths, and those higher level one can b 6 mths !!!! )

- notice period for staff is > 1 mths n can up to 6 mths. ... But when terminate u .. Just one mth notice ...

- increment, always highlighted by the sweetalker hr that = no limit
But, in fact .... Not really

- multiple projects on hand... One person can split to multiple projects...
the time given is short and most of them need to work after working hours, weekend, public holiday
And ..... No replacement leave or claim for that ...

- many terms and conditions which hidden in company policy

And many other again, last thg from my fren is beware on the tricky and sweetalker hr ..

I'm not ok with these all stupid and unfair terms ..
Unless u r a YESMAN
Good luck

LoL, you changed it after you heard the news from your hubby recently is it? It's not your fault in wanting a more balance life for your hubby. Anyway based on your changes, its definitely someone told you to remove it. You posted on 24th June and this news just spread recently last week and now you edited it. I heard from a friend too the same thing you wrote previously smile.gif

For working hours it's from 10-7(flexi) occasional OT when required

For working culture, fast pace environment and minimal supervision.

i will say depends on the team u joined. we all knows its a software company, so anything other than software should be quite ok.

anything that is software, if in project team, quite ok with occasional OT. but if u r in product team, i heard is quite tough and probably nid to OT alot..

i would say all these display or cool facilities provided are marketing gimmick, not like u're gonna enjoy it everyday, else u wil hav ppl staring at u from far away. not to say u kenot enjoy, but rather u will lose heart to enjoy it because of the pending works. neverending works i guess.

but u got to see freshie or interns enjoy it, so i guess that's something..

The worst interview experience I ever have.

The interviewer have no manners and using a lot of sarcasm to question your skills.

He might have the technical skills but surely dont have any leadership skills. Please reconsider when applying for this job.

It is a company setup to strategically capture revenue from IoT emerging market. They have ICT programs and good linkage with certain investment hub e.g. MIDA and MDEC.
