@keropi88, you can use [edit] psnabler final.[/edit] and also get socom ftb3 patch. but i must remind you that, you needed a key to play online. i tink they sell the key at ps store for usd20.

some users here stated the same problem as yours. you can try inserting other memsticks to make sure only the said memstick is the only problem, not the slot.


@jeff_v2, i think latest 5.50 Prometheus and 5.03 Prometheus. but i would just recommend 5.50 GEN-D3. homebrews works just fine here.

ow thanks azamen i forgot bout xlink kai. now yo can play online without wireless adapter. just need the usb data cable. but are limited only with cfw users. and of course it will not connect to psn users.

nope just check xlink kai website. they do not support ftb3 yet. (or ever)

not much difference. the noticable one already stated by you sir adz. it's about clearer LCD. you can play under the sun with psp3000. psp1000 and 2000 can't play even in car on a bright day.

but i can tell you something more. 3k internals is much cheaper than 2k but almost the same as 1k. spare parts like LCD or even motherboards. also, 3k have reduced their internal parts imo.

some problem like analog control moving on it's own, this should not happen in psp3000 as they have already replaced rubber plastic contact that were used in 1k & 2k analog modules. they now use ribbon cable stickied in 3k analog modules.

about 3k security, personally i don't think psp devs will ever be bypass them.

and finally, abt online surfing i don't think there is difference between them. never heard of it.

yup. no security bypass for non hackable mobos ever. but that's just me. the usual oldtimer devs long gone before 3k even exist.

and no you can't simply change lcd vice versa. i too would love to install 3k lcd in my 2k & 1k but no it won't do. hardware, driver issues and all. not the same.

i don't really know why the internals is cheaper. the quality should be the same for instance they use SHARP brand LCD. all same. maybe it's because it's new thing and marketing is wide. unlike 2k that the production already discontinued.

so maybe, just maybe:
2k = rare = expensive
3k = easily accessible = cheap

but the firmware update is not new. rumors about that begins late last year. all new batch will be produced updated with 5.50 (or 5.51, which is non hackable software) but still they sells 3k 5.03 hackable until now. old stocks from last year i suppose???

but really the package is cheap i must say. rather a sweet deal. is it new psp2k or refurbished? my suspect is new psp2k with TA-088v3 mobo that's unhackable just the same like 3k. is it running on chickhen?

nope. no iso loading coz the hbl dev is not supporting piracy. only emulators and some homebrews.

@keropi88, i'm very interested you your psp2k story. as i recall correctly, there is no more 2k with hackable mobo new sets sold. only refurbished. but i don't know how to check for that nowadays. new fake warranty stickers just cost rm8 only (or free with new AP grade housing set). maybe check if the serial numbers match with the box?

and the story goes:
now i'm not accusing anyone or any shop. just making an assumption.

assuming the shop bought a dead psp2k, only lcd faulty or only power board problem that makes the psp could not start. remember this is a shop, they will not give much for a faulty console. they will buy rm150 for instance (yeah they did that here. lol).

then the cost to revive it, with other cosmetics will be around rm200+. so get a box and other not so ori accessories. sell it as new for RM950.

wohoo. now this is what we call big bucks.

yup that's certainly much more expensive.

@greyshadow, yup the motherboard for newer psp does not accept pandora battery. so brick means brick. but due to chickhen and 5.03GEN-C resides in RAM (as it will not touch flash0) so no worries.

unless, you flash with custom firmware that touches flash0 i.e 5.00M33 or 5.50GEN-D, it will brick. such psp can be rescued by replacing the motherboard. the one and only solution i'm afraid.


@keropi88, pandora battery with the help of MMS will boot psp2k (non TA088v3) and psp1k into service mode. in which, they can up/downgrade them. even these model of psp while total bricked can be booted straight up into life.

and no, psp3k and 2kv3 will not even light up. the mobo... zombie mobo is what i called.

err which game is allowed to be copied to other ID?

chickhen just enables your psp to run some homebrew and some emulators. for everything else you need of course custom firmware.

either cfwenabler 3.70 or 5.03 gen-c or 5.03 prometheus. it's needed to install cfw in your psp.

no problem for ctf coz it resides in ram. flash0 is untouched. the one that can bricks is flash0 version of the custom theme, not .ctf

but make sure you use the 5.03 version for v3 and 3000.

i think there is no "latest version" but somehow i got this file from my fren. what it really does is act as a replacement for chickhen R2. faster and not a single fail to restart in chickhen firmware.

@adz, no need reformat. i use cr-5400 + 4gb sandisk msd. compare with my fren's fake 8gb. mine is faster when transfer file. but gameplay does not affect on both.

@vampirewong, just backup everything. you will need the savedata also. so backing up everything and copy them to new card is the best choice. no difference if you format it in cfw or not. it's just formatting to PSP readable format.

@azamen, yeah 1 of my customer did that too. but i see from earlier posting of redcross, he did mention using only AC charger, still green with blackout. isn't that a brick?

@redcross, try holding R while you start your psp with AC charger only. and do take out the memory stick first. if it can go into recovery menu, that's a semi brick. you can (50-50 chances) recover it without pandora.

my assumption

1. psp starts by itself while slapping a battery without you turn on power switch = you got a pandora battery in your hand.

2. psp blackout with only ac charger & no memory stick = brick

so redcross, you have both.

alternatively, you can make your own MMS since you already have pandora. use card reader to make it.
