It's been unlocked for me today too at about 8am.

I couldnt start a game since I had to rush to office but I could finally choose to start campain or choose sorcerer in Last Stand.
I think I might use some of my OT hours to take my afternoon tongue.gif

Guess I will go one campain pure, one corrupted to see how it goes.

So far I have done 2 missions and it's pretty fun, the new abilities in SP are damn cool and the story looks alright so far and quite integrated with the first one.

No bugs detected so far except the sounds that are a bit like what Cheese stated, sometimes feels like my troops are talking from underwater or from a huge cathedral with echo, it's a bit weird.

FOR THE EMPEROR!

Well, I am done with the campaign, it was a little short but pretty well done (I had to stay awake most of last night due to work, that's why I am already done with the campaign, it takes about 8-10hours overall, only a couple of optional battles and no random ones like in the vanilla game)

Not too hard, not too easy, the story was alright with some twists, not exactly fitting to the lore at 100% but okey.

Missions are much more original than vanilla too, less "go shoot the boss" kind, different type of objectives that require quite different way of playing.

Big big open ending, it's like 90% sure they are already working on more xpac to come, not complaining

Time to redo with being corrupted this time, from what I read your corruption amount seems to change the ending and one big event in the middle, 3 possibilities overall (pure, corrupted, middle) smile.gif

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT! (I prefer Iron Warriors chapter for chaos...)

You finished the game within one night?

That is one heck of a short game.

Also, I can't seem to import my old save game to Chaos Rising (perhaps due to the fact, it appears on Chaos Rising but not on the plain vanilla version)
*
Well, it's shorter than vanilla but still not too bad.

Did you complete the main campaign with ur old saves?
I saw some other people having issues with importing, personally it worked fine so I am not sure why some are getting issues.

Is there a way to see your code if you bought from Steam though? Or is it only for retail?

Edit: duh, I fail at reading, I got my code by submiting without a retail code >_>
alex82: yar, I just re-read what tomato put again, not enough sleep, eyes blurblur

It's downloading the wargear now smile.gif

Yar, this 10 install limits sucks pretty hard, I think I still quite far out of it but like you said the worst is that it was indicated nowhere at all which is really not fine with me.

And really putting a limit without a way for you to redeem an install with a tool is just plain retarded

Gormaz did mention about being able to use the gears from the vanilla version.

Won't mind most of my team having the terminator suit.
*
Yar, it worked fine for me, you can't use the terminator right away because of a small story reason (they didnt want you to have full termi at the very beginning I think) but other than I got almost all the gear I had previously.

From what I understood you can keep ONLY the gear that your squads were wearing in the final mission since the rest was left in the Armageddon (the ship you use in vanilla) and it got destroyed by the Tyranids. So I didnt have all of my gear but almost all since I was just deleting almost all the other gear I wasnt using anyway.

Not sure why you guys can't, I didnt do anything special either.

And I am now in process of reinstalling the full DoW1, I need more WH40K fix tongue.gif

lol sounds like you had some bad luck.
*
I was in kind of same condition as kianweic too.
I didnt have GFWL account yet at that time so with the load on Steam servers because of launch of DoW2 + having to go through GFWL account creation process and all, it also took me quite a while too.

But well, happens on release days of some big new game.

Personally I am doing the corrupted play now but I still feel bad about corrupting my space marines... and it seems that if you have some squads that stay pure, they will fight against you or don't want to participate with you anymore, that could be fun though tongue.gif

WTB FORCE COMMANDER Vs DREADNOUGHT SHOWDOWN NAO! (I bet on Thule though)

But with less joking I like how they added more dialogs during the preparation stage (while on the ship) and overall how they improved the story telling, it's quite a step up compared to vanilla

Erm, I won't spoil, but you get one new unit

And all the previous ones get new abilities (some of which are full of win), and you can reallocate the abilities points of your imported squads too at the beginning of CR's campaign.
The max level for units is level 30 which you can actually reach quite easily at 3/4 of the campaign, at least I did, I usually takes lots of time during missions (so I don't get good "speed" rating) but I end up killing almost everything on the map ("kill the xenos").

Not sure which bring more experience between doing quick for objectives (and get more xp at end of missions) or doing like I do but I just prefer to take my time and kill more stuff.

Just finished the "ORDER" play  thumbup.gif Going to start the "CHAOS" replay tonite.

I like the scripted missions this time.. sets the game in a good pace... Especially the timed missions

But I wished there are more side missions so I can collect all the items. My Avitus still using his Neverending Hail of Destruction from the vanilla game during the final mission. Didn't get a better heavy bolter drop  sad.gif
*
Yar, but that heavy bolter was almost a little bit too powerful in vanilla, so I was not really surprised I couldn't find a better one either. tongue.gif

I personally went with a lascannon for Avitus for most of the end game, it packs quite a lot of punch and go through vehicles like butter.

For anti-infantry my Force commander, dreadnought or assault squads are more than enough already so I didnt really need the bolter anymore

One question though, am I the only one that leave Avitus in normal power armor? I always found giving him a terminator armor greatly reduce his damage output (or at least greatly reduce the damage of the two other marines)

I also wished they could have a few more optional missions, but well, nevermind, at least this one was quite more story driven

Thing with him in terminator is that the 2 other marines use normal stormbolter and not the assault cannon like avitus does (the 6 long barreled gatling) which sucks compared to even the normal heavy bolter they use when on normal power armour.

Anyway, not like he usually really need the better armor anyway, he is supposed to stay behind and pewpew

Each time you install the game, whether from Steam or from disks, it counts as one installation used up.

You don't have to enter the CD key because Steam does it for you automatically and send it to GFWL.

At least that's my understanding of it, and yes that issue seems to be related to the non-SSA key thinggy, seems not too many games have this issue so far.

Hopefully they remove that limit in the future but knowing Microsoft habits, I kinda doubt it

Yes, the only thing that could make microsoft move in my opinion is if they realize that it would cost more to them to keep their call centers busy with people asking for new key instead of jut removing that DRM, since nobody will buy the game ori anymore (or at very low price anyway)

And yes I really agree that it's a very badly documented "feature" and it's hard to get some real info about it.
That whole way of doing things sucks hard seriously

I only play SP anyway, the last few tries I did on MP for DoW2 ended up with the NAT connection crap issue and bad ping (since I am located in China compared to you guys)

WTB Last Stand offline mode with bots to help you! tongue.gif

Hum, I did that during the last weekend and it worked fine for me, not sure that was a limited time offer.

I am personally in China (so not technically in the same region as Msia for DoW2) but I don't think it matters.

Would be a bit weird if it's only available for less than one week though

Using Vista 64 bits here playing all at full options too, never had that issue.
As Abyssio linked, looks like its related to 32 bits OS.

Weird they changed that so long after the game was out, I didnt really see any new shiny graphics in CR that justify that either (or it was so subtle I didnt really notice)
