confirm fake bro. The tag is wrong, looks like an Asian fake tag. And if it is really an authentic Asian tag, there isn't any official embroidery that goes with the Asian tag as far as we know of. Another thing is i think the tag is on the wrong side of the sleeve...hmm?
*
Iswandy.. How can you tell the tag is wrong.. It looks so blurry la.. And what asian tag are you referring to? Or is it washing tag? I can't see any washing tag from the ebay sales page...

Tag placement doesn't really matter because it cannot determine the authenticity.. I've seen the same jersey having tags on different placements..

Anyway I'm not 100% sure if it's authentic or not because it is too blurry.... closeup on the photo doesn't do any justice at all:

If it's clearer and can see the Style Code.. if it's like this:

Then confirm fake... But because it's blurry.. I can't dare to say it's fake. Or it's 100% authentic.. hard to tell..

Another way is to look at the seller's other items. Look at the Liverpool shirt. only one league badge on the sleeve and it is the worst badge ever.

Yup.. That Liverpool kit really looks fake.. The liverbird logo in the crest looks to big and bold as well....

Oh.. you were referring to the price tag then. Yup, the features of european market and asian market does differ... For sizing info too but it's not 100% consistent though.... But one of the good indicators.

But yes.. overall I would say that jersey looks fake to me.. The embroidery of the crest too looks bad....

Hey bro,
Then you think this one legit or not? http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?t=2675609 the tag like same man.
*
I checked at the photobucket link shown in the forum (link: http://s739.photobucket.com/albums/xx40/freestylers09/) and the 2 sample jerseys shown are suspected to be fake. Why?

1. The Barcelona 09/10 home jersey with IBRAHIMOVIC 9

a. It has a funny looking price tag:

user posted image

My argument:

i. The style code is wrong. It should start with 3xxxxx and not 1xxxxx. 1xxxx style code is for old design.
ii. The colour code is wrong. 010 is for black colour jerseys/shorts.

b. The NikeFIT embroidery looks dodgy:

user posted image

2. Liverpool 08/10 home jersey:

a. The price tag doesn't show the correct barcode sticker which has LIVERPOOL written on the white barcode sticker:

user posted image

Well.. maybe because the seller didn't flip the price tag. Something like this should exist on the price tag... the white coloured barcode sticker with the team's name:

user posted image

b. The CLIMACOOL logo looks dodgy:

user posted image

c. The sizing info near the collars looks dodgy:

user posted image

(I mean the font used... not the same like the original ones)

That's my humble opinion though... It's just that I'm not convince that the jerseys are authentic...

Is there any way to get back the tax money? or how to avoid this type of issue in future...

I have called up UPS to explain on why i were taxed? She told me that if the product value CIF is more than RM500, i would be taxed accordingly cry.gif

Tell me first.. how much was the total price of the 2 jerseys including shipping fee?

We've been discussing this matter for many months already... and I was already advised by the Customs Dept to spread the news in the forum...... ensure your total purchase is below RM500... else, you will be taxed. Maybe you missed out on it.. pity though.. but what has happened has happened anyway.

Bad news is there is no way of getting back the money. Good news is that you have two awesome authentic jerseys... And you have learn a new lesson, never risk of buying jerseys with total inclusive of shipping fee of above RM500. Especially if it uses UPS.

Nice jerseys though.

Normally it takes around 2 weeks to arrive. Remember that we just had CNY holidays.. so maybe you should wait.

Sometimes the parcel is already at Pos Malaysia's branch office... they just somehow delay sending it

Good news to those who missed out on the umbro retro england repro jerseys... Umbro has reproduced them back again and this time they are from S to XXXL.

You can buy them at kitbag. Here's the link:

Slight difference is that some of the retro jerseys are plain without the name number like the previous one.. where the England Euro 96 home repro had SHEARER 9, England Mexico 86 home repro had number 10.. but the England Italia 90 home repro still has the number 19 though..

Thanks for the explaination. Will definitely check out the Customs website for more info..

I just want to know how to spend prudently within the limits of the law, not to evade it biggrin.gif

Now im kinda confused regarding the VAT thingy here. From my knowledge, VAT is only applicable to European countries right? So let's say in future, if i were to order online from UK again can i request them not to charge VAT or i still have to pay VAT but can request to remove it from the invoice?
Not sure whether i can claim back if i get the correct invoice from NUFC shop. There is no absolute chance right?
*
As what chcher said.. we are allowed to educate and teach people on how to avoid being taxed by ensuring that your total purchase is below RM500. That is allowed by the Malaysian Royal Customs. I've check this with them and they've confirmed this and allowed me to share this info. LYN forum also allows this because I am not teaching you guys to break the rules of the country.

What is not allowed is to teach you guys how to avoid being taxed by lying, cheating, etc etc.. so you guys get the point now.

Generally my rule of playing safe is to ensure below RM400 or RM450.. Being too close to RM500 is risky.

About the VAT (value added tax), yes.. only buyers from countries under the EU are implied to it. We are not. So when you buy and ship items or goods from UK to Malaysia, VAT tax is excluded. By right it shouldn't have been in the invoice. Normally online stores will list the price of the item you bought minus the VAT tax. Example is kitbag. They will list down the price of the item you paid for (which is without the VAT tax) on the invoice. I dunno why NUFC online store doesn't.

You can try and inform NUFC online store to not list the price with the VAT. If they can't, then play safe and try not to buy too much on one order and exceed or be too close to RM500.

There is almost zero chance of getting the correct invoice from NUFC and claim for refund. The customs are a bit strict and they are not easy to nego like that.. but you can try though.. Who knows..

icon_question.gif  TAIKOs...would like to ask if bryan robson its using  no.12 instead of his famous no.7 during the 92/93 season? can i put the UMBRO style nameset on the 92/93 season home jersey with ROBSON no.7?
*
In the 92/93 season... the first ever EPL season... all teams wore jerseys with numbers only (1 to 11).

Only in the 93/94 season onwards.. all teams are required to register a player's name with a particular number for the whole season... For the 93/94 season.. Cantona got the number 7 and Robson got 12. This was the last season Robson was at the club before he left to become player manager at Middlesbrough at the end of the season.

If you just put number 7 with no number.. also can. That can be Robson's jersey but you have to use the blue coloured lion EPL logo (used for 92/93 season). Because during the earlier season (before Cantona joined), Robson wore 7 and sometimes the number 7 was worn by other players like Kanchelskis and so and so..

To answer your question, you cannot put the number 7 and ROBSON using the umbro styled nameset.

Latest news on the new England away kit....

Warning over England 2010 Away shirts after lorry hijack
Friday, 19 February 2010 12:32

user posted image

Football fans have been urged to look out for "suspicious" new England 2010 away shirts after a lorry carrying the new football shirts - believed to be worth £2 million - was hijacked in Flintshire.

The BBC reports that an armed, hooded gang struck at about 0800 GMT on Wednesday on the Deeside Industrial Estate.

The driver, 37, was released, unhurt, an hour later 40 miles (64km) away in Wigan, Lancashire.

The truck, which was later found burnt out in Merseyside, was delivering 50,000 England away kits to an Umbro clothing factory when it held up.

"Deeside Industrial Estate is a busy area, especially at this time of the morning, and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the vehicle or noticed anything suspicious."

The new away shirt was only launched this month and is not due to go on sale until next month, the day England wear it in a World Cup warm-up friendly against Egypt.

In a statement, Umbro said: "Umbro has been informed about the incident concerning the stolen England away football shirts.

"Umbro is co-operating fully with the police and we encourage anyone who is offered suspicious England away shirts to report it to the police immediately as this is a serious criminal matter.

"We wish the driver all the best."

Inquiries are involving both Greater Manchester and Merseyside Police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Mold CID on 101, if you are calling from Wales, 0845 607 1001 (Welsh line), 0845 607 1002 (English line) or Crimestoppers Wales anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Anyone doing bulk orders? Just curious, tempted to get some jerseys.

Sent my new Liverpool LS to Al-Ikhsan near Gurney Plaza to be printed + patches. Almost 2 weeks already, tmr gonna check, hopefully done. I'll post pics when I get it back.
*
They will send your jersey to their HQ in Taman University, Johor Bahru......... then you have to wait....

The best way is to buy the namesets and send them to you at Penang. Then you can bring along your jerseys with the namesets to a store at KBJ (Kompleks Bukit Jambul) and ask them to print it for you. There's one store there that can do printing for you but they charge at around RM10 (if not mistaken). Or you can just DIY yourself and apply them...

I feel your pain. I used to live at Ipoh. What I did? I took a bus from Ipoh to KL. From pudu bus station I walked to BB plaza, went to ali BB plaza, had them applied and then walk back to pudu bus station and took a bus back to ipoh. But the results were not satisfactory.. what I did next was I DIY them myself. This was back in 1998.

Thanks for the info..

First i'll try to contact NUFC shop regarding this matter and inform them i were taxed nearly 40pounds for their mistakes by including VAT in the total price in the invoice. Let's see how their response going to be.

Hopefully they can send to me the correct invoice and i'll personally go to the Customs and try my luck. You never know right?

Thanks for the help. I'll keep in mind for future purchase, i'll try to do separate orders or keep it under RM500..

Good luck mate. And share with us what happens next...

Yup, that's the best way to apply his name. Besides, the 93/94 season was his last ever season at United.

Kids size jerseys are a bit hard to find.. They are easy to find during new season... Not many stores stock them because the demands are not as high as the adult ones.

You can try looking at al-ikhsan or at nike/adidas boutique stores....

The easiest way is to buy them from online stores such as kitbag. They do have a lot but then after nearing end of season, the stock decreases...

I pity the trouble you had...

My suggestions.. to buy the jersey, buy them at kitbag (www.kitbag.com). You can now use your Maybank ATM Debit Card to buy jerseys online. I will later post a guide on how to do so. Or you can buy them using your credit card. It's 100% safe and trustable.

Then for the namesets, you can buy from mykitzone store. It's a store setup by some of the my-fjc members at attractive prices. They have all the EPL namesets, patches and UCL namesets. If you want further information pm chcher. They can post them to you at Sarawak.

This is the hard part.. you might need to find a shop that has a heatpress printing machine or you can DIY apply them for you. I have created guides previously on how to DIY apply the namesets.. but if it's too risky.. you have to look for a store who can do the printing....

99.5% you will be taxed. If you used UPS.. 99.999% you will be taxed. Total amount of tax I predict will be RM1xx or almost to RM200... You could buy another jersey with that money..

We've been discussing this already with notoriez who got taxed with his purchase from NUFC online.. You can read it back here: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1303914/+480

QUOTE(nimrod2 @ Feb 24 2010, 09:57 PM)
your purchase was 93gbp. so thats definitely about rm500.
the exchange rate fluctuates daily so when it reaches malaysia, they will use the current rate.

sorry to say, u will (almost) definitely get taxed, from my experience.
UPS will wanna get the goods to you on time, because that is their duty n promise to the customers.
so if it's above the rm500 limit, they will just show the invoice, pay the customs duty and then send it out.
then u have to pay the tax when the item reaches your house plus a surcharge of rm25 because they paid for you first.

the limit to avoid tax is abit tricky because kitbag negotiates their rates with UPS.
so while u paid 12gbp for shipping, kitbag may have paid more depending on the weight of your parcel and other factors.
but they only charge you 12gbp so that it's cheap for you.

when it comes to customs tax, there are 3 factors that come into play.

CIF -
C = consignment (the value of your package)
I = insurance (any insurance coverage by the shipping company)
F = freight (shipping charges)

so while your purchase could be low, the freight charges could be high because of the weight of the package and other factors.
so dont always try to go so near the limit of rm500.
keeping it rm450 and below, and also ensuring that u dont order too many things at one go will ensure that you wont get taxed in the future.

i've kena'd before, so it was a very good lesson learnt for me.
i believe others have experienced if before too.
we just learn from our mistakes, and move on smile.gif
*
Yup. Jerseyman too.... we all learn... you guys lucky because we the ones who kena last time are willing to share and help you guys to avoid it.... hopefully.

I noticed that in the Carling Cup final yesterday... the match worn jerseys for the Man United team has a slightly different match insignia (carling cup final embroidery) compared to the ones sold at kitbag....

Here's the one from kitbag:

user posted image

Notice the last line (third line from top) that writes "50TH ANNIVERSARY LEAGUE CUP". You can clearly see that the third line is longer than the first line and second line..

Now look at the jerseys actually worn by the Man United players last night:

user posted image
Look at Darren Gibson's jersey... you can see that the third line of the embroidery is shorter compared to the one sold at kitbag

Same goes for Berbatov and Vidic's jersey:

user posted image

user posted image

What I noticed is the length (of the third line) is shorter than the one on the kitbag jersey.

Why is that? It is because the position of the match final embroidery is slightly lower and closer to the V chevron.. Thus, the third line has to be shorter. What they did was that they used a smaller 'font size' for the third line.. Look at the photos below:

user posted image

user posted image

You can see the wordings on the third line is smaller compared to the first and second line. This is to ensure that the wordings on the third line fit between the V chevron logo...

For the Aston Villa kit.. it has the exact same embroidery like the ones sold at kitbag:

user posted image

So sadly.. the embroidery on the jersey sold by kitbag is not 100% the same like the ones worn actually by the Man United players...

Instead of waiting for them to reply your email, just call them lah..

It's not expensive to call IDD nowadays.

Call them at this number: 00448454084345

You can call them now. It's already morning at UK. Quote your order number when you talk to them and ask for the UPS tracking code number. They can give you on the spot. Easier, better, than using email.
