Next month my 5800XM will be 1 year old there goes my zitron warranty keke.

in taman melati area takes bout 1 minute too even i use it frequently...but area around time square takes longer than that...maybe coz of the tall building around that area...btw, im using garmin and not nokia gps...

my 5800XM sot sot 1 before i update my firmware 5mins still trying to lock.
After upgrade to V40 it only takes max 30sec immediate get lock.

have u try it on other area if using garmin...sometimes it takes time to lock...

most places also very fast except city centre maybe take 1 mins+++

i see...is there any settings that affect the period to lock on gps ?

It's already sot-sot long time ago using Garmin MXT

i dunno which 1 is better either nokia own gps or garmin..to me nokia gps is hard to search the area base on coordinates...

i Guess this is hardware with software problem.

Garmin own maps worst..but if u mean Garmin using malfreemaps That's the best maps already

Anyway, all Nokia Synbian60 V5 having problem wth the Garmin software whereby it's keeps on "hang kei" once you browse the maps & also accidently went into "Symbol mode" otherwise the maops from malfreemaps is superb...and not Garmin own maps hor..

im using malfreemaps...latest update...dont wanna use the malsingmaps coz i found it copied the maps form malfreemaps...pity them..

i have updated to latest FW 2 days ago. so far it SUCKS big time!

the main problem is the battery. it drain superbly fast! it's very annoying! anybody knows how 2 overcome this problem?

i tried ovi map & i simply don't like it. the route is WRONG & always gimme weird route. y'day while navigating around bkt bintang the phone automatically swithed off. WTF! this never happen with garmin.

i've never have any of this problem since last FW. any other way to roll back to previous FW? i hate all these bugs & if i can't roll back the FW i might thinking of changing phone. its a shame for a such wonderful phone that i have been using almost a year.

thats why i prefer garmin..btw u can change from dual mode in the network selection to gsm if u dont use 3.5 g connection..It will save a lot of drainage issues...

i'm always using GSM mode unless i wanna make a video call. but this batt drain definitely arise after i update FW

i guess they have to conme with another FW update to solve this thing...

Same both my n97 & 5800 XM i will keep it at GSM mode to conserve my battery. How often do u get 3G calls a day? Somemore drain battery like drinking water

yes, there's a way of going back to the previous FW, if u've been following, u can oso see it in fp
if u dun like ovi maps, u can oways stick with garmin...ovi maps is free after all, unlike garmin...no nid the cursing
