GPS works all around the world. It depends on the map to gives u a precise lock. If u go to a place without the map then u see a blank map with a dot there

that software u requires build in compass. I am using it pretty cool feature. U just spin the phone it will like calibrate and there u are .

Tested OVI MAPS working on my 5800XM and N97 with voice navigation notice the lock time is faster than garmin without a-gps ( Screenshot from N97)

of course cold lock the satelitte must search entire sky for the satelitte when warm start aka 2nd time the previous gps location already in ovi maps memory so it no need to search entire sky but only from previous gps location

my 5800XM sot sot 1 before i update my firmware 5mins still trying to lock.
After upgrade to V40 it only takes max 30sec immediate get lock.

Nokia maps its abit confusing the phone keep forcing itself to use data but after awhile messing with it then u realize its not tat hard afterall

Same both my n97 & 5800 XM i will keep it at GSM mode to conserve my battery. How often do u get 3G calls a day? Somemore drain battery like drinking water

Yes lazy to change. Because theme makes the phone more laggy. So i only play wit the wallpapers.

I own both 5800XM and N97 all i can tell u after i use N97 Physical qwerty keyboard i barely touch my 5800XM anymore.
