If I were you, I'll just install it through wifi using Ovi Maps. Click settings, go to Navigation, choose Drive Guide, then choose the language for it to dl

How do we know when the Ovi maps are updated? After using it for 2 days, I find it very outdated. It directed me to turn against a one-way street, and another time directed me in a much longer navigation. And it's on a major road! Sigh... maybe we can start writing to Nokia to ask them to adopt Malfreemaps.

still new, they dont have mappers everywhere as malfreemaps team does, even i cant find the house lorong mygf stays in OVI maps .. bt in Garmin XT it shows exactly ..

I use 2 GPS apps:
- OVI Maps as priority (mostly)
- Garmin XT (switch to this wen OVI maps fail to guide)

I think Garmin also does the same thing, but mapper are trying their best to modify the map when we post the error in MFM. I have never used Nokia navigation before. However, I do believe using it as a guidance than just plain following it. I drive around quite a lot and know the area where it usually jam or slow. So instead, I drive where I wanna go and have them re-route my direction again and again. Sometimes its longer but faster due to speeding. There are times where Im being toll'ed around and discover new shortcuts but very rarely.

in garmin, sometimes after calculated the route and when it is showing direction, the reaction of the "arrow" corresponding to my current direction is a bit slow. I mean i'm heading west, the arrow is still pointing south and i must wait until it points towards west. (just example)

But that's not a big prob la, mine is "free" anyway~

Yeah I understand no maps or navigation system is perfect... so back to the question, how do we know when Ovi maps is updated?

Right now organising my favourites on maps.ovi.com and synchronising with my mobile Ovi... much easier...

My Grandfather bought a N85 from China, lol. I think its a fake China phone cause it cant respond to the *#0000# and *#7780# code. Also, it has Wifi option, but it cant detect any wifi at my home. Also, some idiot changed the security code, so he cant lock the phone. Any way to make it non-china phone? As in update it with Nokia original FW. NSS cant scan the phone too

Browsed around the maps, they've gotta be at least 1 or 2 years old. Giant Kota Damansara and surrounding shophouses not even completed yet, can see the buildings' foundations only. I know what you guys will say, "oh it's free what". I know it's free, just a heads-up so you guys will take note and not rely on it 100%

Is it safe to remove those MMS plugin, SMS plugins found at the installation folder? I think there's something to do with Ovi suite. =/
