Attention!~ Windows 7 Users!:
When using RMClock on Windows 7 this need to be done:

in RMC in Management disable OS power management integration
in W7 in power plan in Minimum processor state set 100%

and now RMC is taking control of processor and Windows 7 of the rest
hmmm just wanna ask why must the minimum processor state state be set at 100%? what happen if i put it lower? and what do you mean by windows 7 taking care of the rest?

thanks

Hey! I'm kinda new to the undervolting and I have to undervolt my laptop cause it's overheating usually when playing games. I studied through the guide written by flipfire and now my problem is that when I downloaded the rmclock, there isn't a tab called "Advanced CPU Settings" so I'm stuck on that... This thread didn't seem too old and I'm hoping to get an answer ASAP.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. My laptop is Acer Aspire 5536. I haven't bought any new components to it so it does have the default processor, graphic card etc... The processor is AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core QL-65 and it's 2.10 Ghz

undervolt is for old chip (core 2 duo), so i doubt there will be any new development on this field..

Then I guess it is too bad.

How about underclocking?

With Intel Ivy Bridge ULV and Y series processor, there is not much need to undervolt anymore. When Haswell come out, there will be even less point smile.gif

I just love to have my notebook/desktop running cool and energy efficient.
It is a hobby. Much like overclockers, just that I love to underclock and undervolt.

^energy efficient would be let it run at the highest speed to let the task done faster and drop to lowest clock...

Still, if still want underclock, Throttlestop should be able to do it.

The key word is "as cool and as energy efficient as possible".

Will the throttlestop work with Ivy Bridge? Is it for underclock only or for both underclock and undervolt? Thanks for the recommendation.

Underclock only.
You can pretty much forget about undervolt for mobile CPU past Core 2 Duo.

I see, thanks for the confirmation.
Still in the process of considering which model to get as my new hobby laptop for underclocking and all. For this I don't need turbo feature as it will defeat the purpose.

Well, if you want to undervolt, get the AMD APU notebook.
