One quick question, i am kinda new in photography and i don't know whats the deal with Canon or Nikon's camera.
One of my friend that is using Canon DSLR keep on calling Sony Alpha copycat brand.

I really wonder why brand matters, DSLR is DSLR .. what really really matters is the lens that is used and the photographer's skill itself.

you no wrong, although camera do contribute in late-stage photo process, but is more less the same.
what differ is skill..
if he laugh at you for sony, you also can say canon kitty spoil easily (especially 18-55 IS) lol

Yeah, out of warranty, i got it used unit.
It's my first DSLR and i am pretty happy with the performance, i tried using my friend's D80 and there's no VR on his 100mm lens and the picture blurs like hell even with little shaky.

Overall i am satisfied with my A300.
But the worst part is, i just brought SAL50F18 today and it's supposed to arrive tomorrow but my LCD screen is broken

no point to argue much...u have no right to shut his mouth..its his mouth anyway ^^
instead..spend more effort to improve ur shots...let ur photos do the job..if he stil doesnt appreciate it..well..at least i hope that ur photos manage to convince other people that good or bad photo..it has nothing to do with the brand at all..

to be frank..i have no fren around me using sony dslr....they r using other brand's high end models like D700..D300..5Dm2..1Dm3..when i told them i gonna get sony..they dont quite agree too(altho they were not as sarcastic as ur fren)..infact im getting 1 of the cheapest model from sony..a300....u can tell how much diff it was..but around 6 months after i started my photography journey..altho im stil nowhere near "pro" yet..but i can see their attitude changes alot....if someone really love and know what photography is all about..im sure they will appreciate the effort u made to make things better...

p/s: serious..would u be happy when someone saw ur photo..and the comment was "Wahhh...u using XXX camera??wow...nowonder the photo so nice la..! " hahaha..i wouldnt be happy tho..

I heard the SAL50F18 is selling at RM400 now is it true?

I got mine at RM460 used for only 20 days from a forumer here.

sony center???im dreaming if they give this price..the only possibility is that u get a new A550 and u top up rm300 for the prime lens
