hi guys, just wondering, with symbian^3 coming out, symbianv5 might be phrase out sooner or later...so will this phone be upgradable to Symbian^3 later thru firmware release?

maybe not.. and symbian^3 is new.. so maybe they not stable also

Tools->Settings->General->Personalization->Language

in there u can see phone language, writing language, and other options

go to Writing Language and choose 简体中文, and default input choose pinyin. that way, whenever u type message, the default will always be pinyin input liao...
if u still cant see chinese language selection there, then u gotta change ur firmware to the APAC region firmware, ur current one is probably from EURO or other region where there's no chinese

Added on May 13, 2010, 12:34 amfrom what i understand from symbian 3 is basically the polished and enhanced version of the current Symbian s60v5, the kernal is similar, maybe with a few extra features added, and the UI is resigned to be more finger friendly. considering the fact that Nokia N8 might be coming out in 3-4 months time, i'd say the OS itself is rather stable.
also, one thing that is worth to mention is that symbian^3 will require hardware acceleration, where N97/5800/x6 failed, but Vivaz fits the requirement, so for now i'd say that upgrading to symbian^3 would be possible, depending on whether SE wanna code a firmware for vivaz...

if there're no news about this so far, i guess i'll just wait and see...

Those winmo firmwares are upgradable...I remembered upgrading my Asus to Winmo 6 from Winmo 5 (I think)...So probably symbian^1 (S60 V5) can do the same...

Furthermore, Vivaz is running on TI Omap 3630 720Mhz which is highly rated compare to N8 -Arm11 680Mhz...

However the worry thing is I never heard ppl flashing S60 V3 to S60 V5...dunno can or not??

if se is going to allow vivaz to upgrade it's symbian os they should allow us to sent in our hp to their center for upgrading ^^. I heard se x10 going to get a android os upgrade from 1.6 to 2.1 this september. hope vivaz get 1 too with this new symbian

haha, don think can la, s60v3, is for phones with numeric keypad, and s60v5 is the current symbian that is really, identical to v3, but with higher resolution and is used on touch screens, don think possible, or anyone would want to, flash v3 to v5..haha

Added on May 13, 2010, 9:06 pmas for the firmware upgrade to symbian ^3 question...the issue goes same with n8 also, cos supposedly symbian^4 is gonna be due sometime around there few months next year according to the symbian roadmap, so when symbian^4 comes out, will it be upgradable from S^3 to S^4, if can, it also means that vivaz can, then this phone is trully, the best symbian for another 2 years...
