guide on how to install Python on Vivaz & Satio:

u might wanna ask: what is python? click on the link if u wanna know more: Python for S60

installation procedure:

1) download the necessary file from. maemo.org, download the file PythonForS60_2.0.0.tar.gz

2) extact the file, then go to folder \PythonForS60\PyS60Dependencies\ looking for the file Python_2.0.0.sis and PythonScriptShell_2.0.0_3_2.sis, these are the files we need for the installation.

3) sign these 2 files yourself. if u donno how to sign the file, follow the procedure on here

4) copy both signed files to your phone & install them. Originally, python & its apps must be installed on c:\ for them to work, but since vivaz phone storage is not much, there r 2 way to install it on e:\ instead:

a) google & download the file PythonForsmodulpack_e.zip, & install it to your phone (i never try this method myself tho, so i donno if this really work, i'm using the method b instead...)

b) install both files on c:\ 1st, then re-install both files on e:\ without uninstall them.

5) restart your phone and thats it! start python, try to run some script & see if it wrok. then u can install the python apps on your phone, the app MUST be installed on the same drive as python.

u can get alot of python app from the web. for example:

Python free apps.

is ur place have 3g network? can ur phone connect to internet without connecting to ur laptop? r u connecting ur phone in pc mode?
u didnt state clearly what problem u r facing...how u do it? any error message or anything?

heres the secret key for vivaz's service menu, prolly same with satio...

from the pic , its not the problem of ur pc suite, the problem is, win xp cannot recognise/no driver for ur vivaz. I'm using win7, when i plug in my vivaz it install all driver by itself, so i'm not sure about xp. anyway, from where u install the pc suite? from the phone memory card or u download from web?

is ur vivaz ori/ap? u use the original mem card or upgrade it to 16gb or something? cos the ori 8gb mem card comes with vivaz already have pc suite & other software on it, prolly including drivers too.

u know its really hard to get the case for those phone with slide qwerty, like n97, c6 & vivaz pro....u prolly gonna use normal leather pouch

well it said the driver already included in pc suit...or u can try it on another computer, if it work on other computer, means its ur pc's problem...

for those who have cert error, uthe best way is to sign the sis file urself.

heres a tutorial on how to sign the file. u can sign any other sis files in future also.

htc wildfire & SE x10 mini lor, ap set below 1k, 5mp camera, screen also same 240x320...wildfire is android 2.1 & x10 mini will be 2.1 soon...or mini pro with abit higher price & full qwerty...
or samsung galaxy i7500, price abit higher, around RM1.1-1.2k but higher screen res 320x480...but, the official android ver will stuck on 1.6 forever, if u want android 2.x u can only get the unofficial 1...

no u cannot uninstall adobe reader & office, they r bundled with the system, unless u can heck the phone...but sadly, vivaz still unhackable untill today, so all u can do is just leave the app there...or buy the license.

vivaz is much better than aino in term of function, aino is just a feature phone with limited touch function, u cant compare a smart phone & a feature phone.... well, the only thing aino win is the connection to PS3....witch 1 is the best, its really depends on what u need...

cos s60v3 is old symbian for the old, non touch N series like n95, n73...and vivaz is using s60v5

all touch screen phone is like that, some even worse, have to charge everyday.

i think the standby theme will affect the battery consumtion as well? like the SE standby theme or spb shell, more animation = more cpu usage = more power consume?

country is not a big problem, i think i select china, forgot already...

if u send the file via bluetooth from your laptop, it will sure go to your phone memory. install pc suite, then on the bluetooth on both phone & laptop, pc suite will detect & connect your phone, then transfer your file to the location u want. thats how i do it.

can u read chinese on other side? or only facebook?

what tv u mean? if u r refering to tv broadcast like tv3, ntv7, sorry, no, vivaz dont have tv reciever, so far i know only china phone have. if u want to watch internet tv, u need to install software like SPB TV.

Go get android. If u really want symbian, at least get bella, s60 is dead.
